Elder (0-1) took the loss against the Rays on Friday, allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out four across six innings. He did not issue a walk.

Elder started out nicely by facing just one over the minimum through two innings, but he proceeded to give up five runs over the next four frames, including a two-run home run to Danny Jansen in the fourth inning and a solo shot to Christopher Morel in the sixth. Elder was inserted into Atlanta's rotation after Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list March 31. Elder has struggled in his two starts in the majors this season, posting a 7.20 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 10 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander could lose his spot in Atlanta's rotation and be sent back to Triple-A Gwinnett if Spencer Strider (elbow) returns from the injured list next week.

Bradley (2-0) earned the win against Atlanta on Friday. He allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out seven across six innings.

Bradley's lone run allowed came on Matt Olson RBI single in the first inning. The 24-year-old right-hander settled in after the first frame, retiring 15 of the next 17 batters he faced while striking out five over that span. Bradley has logged two quality starts so far, and across his three outings he's posted a 4.40 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB across 14.1 innings. His next start is tentatively lined up for next week at home against the Red Sox.

Kershaw (toe/knee) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Kershaw isn't eligible to return from the injured list until May 17, but the fact that he's already been cleared to begin a rehab assignment is an encouraging sign that he may be able to return around then. While the Dodgers have a great deal of rotation depth, the 37-year-old lefty still figures to have a starting role once healthy.

Manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Steele will get a second opinion on his left elbow, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

Steele has now dealt with tendinitis in his left elbow in back-to-back seasons, and Counsell said the team wants to determine if his recent problems are the result of a larger issue, per Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network. The 29-year-old southpaw recently said he only expects to be on the injured list for the minimum 15 days, though that may change based on the results of his upcoming doctor's visit.

Woodruff (shoulder) will make his first rehab start at Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The plan is for Woodruff to throw roughly 65 pitches during his first rehab outing. The Brewers will keep the 32-year-old righty in the minors for multiple starts while he continues to build up his workload, though the team may push him to return sooner rather than later since it currently has seven starting pitchers on the injured list.

Civale suffered a setback in his recovery from a left hamstring strain this week, Sophia Minnaert of FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin reports.

Civale has been on the IL since the end of March due to his hamstring, and there's currently no telling how much of an effect his setback will have on his recovery timeline. He'll presumably undergo imaging to determine the extent of the damage, and the team will determine his next steps once the results come back.

The Athletics will recall Ginn from Triple-A Las Vegas to start Saturday's game against the Mets, Jessica Kleinschmidt of Baseball America reports.

The A's were down a man in their rotation after optioning Joey Estes to Triple-A following his ugly outing Sunday, so they'll now give Ginn another look in the big leagues. The 25-year-old righty has pitched well in the minors this season, allowing just two runs in 11 innings while striking out 19 batters and walking two.

Quintana will start against the Diamondbacks on Friday after being recalled by Milwaukee from the Rookie ACL Brewers, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Quintana spent much of the offseason as a free agent, but he signed a one-year deal with the Brewers in early March and opted to start the year in the minors to get stretched out. With multiple Milwaukee starters on the injured list, Quintana will get the call-up Friday and make his first appearance in a Brewers uniform, though it's uncertain what type of workload he will handle in his debut. The veteran southpaw went 10-10 across 31 regular-season starts for the Mets in 2024, posting a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 135:63 K:BB across 170.1 innings.

The Padres transferred Waldron (oblique) to the 60-day injured list Friday.

Waldron has been on the injured list all season due to a strained left oblique, and his move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains out until at least late May. His roster spot will be filled by Tyler Wade, who was selected from Triple-A to replace the injured Jake Cronenworth (rib).

Young is a candidate to be called up to start next week when the Orioles need a fifth starter, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Young had been scheduled to start Friday at Triple-A Norfolk but has been pushed back to Sunday, which could indicate the Orioles are lining him up to take the ball next weekend against the Reds. The 26-year-old has permitted just two unearned runs with an 11:2 K:BB over 11.1 innings in his first two outings with Norfolk this season. If Young is indeed promoted next week, he would be making his major-league debut.
