Gomber (0-2) took the loss Monday at Boston, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and one walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

The Colorado southpaw took a pounding at Fenway Park, as the Red Sox lineup roped four extra-base hits -- three doubles and a homer -- to chase Gomber after 91 pitches. Gomber appeared to still be working his way back from a shoulder injury that sidelined him through June 15, as he averaged 89.5 mph on his fastball. While that average was up from his season mark prior to Monday (88.7 mph), it was still below his 2024 average of 90.4 mph. Across 24.1 frames, Gomber has pitched to a 5.92 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB while allowing five homers. He currently lines up to make his next start at Cincinnati this weekend.

Montero (4-1) earned the win in Monday's game against the Rays, allowing one run on four hits and one walk across six innings with four strikeouts.

The Detroit right-hander required only 68 pitches, 47 of which were strikes, to secure his second quality start of the season. The only blemish on Montero's performance was a Jonathan Aranda RBI single in the third, as the Tampa Bay lineup was unable to mount any momentum because they managed only one extra-base hit -- a Chandler Simpson double in the fifth. Despite owning a respectable 3.77 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 43:21 K:BB across 62 big-league frames, Montero appears to have made this start to provide the Tigers rotation additional rest around the All-Star break. He is likely to be shuttled back to Triple-A Toledo, where he's pitched to a 5.87 ERA in 23 innings this season.

Baz (8-4) suffered the loss Monday at Detroit, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

The 26-year-old righty tallied his third consecutive quality start despite taking the loss in this 94-pitch outing. Baz worked around a Javier Baez two-run homer in the second and a Riley Greene RBI single in the fifth to secure his eighth quality start of the season. Through 103.2 total innings, Baz sports a 4.34 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 104:38 K:BB over 18 starts. He currently lines up to make his next start at Boston this weekend.

Manoah (elbow) is expected to throw a live BP session Tuesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Manoah will throw a two-up live batting practice session, meaning that he'll essentially toss two innings of simulated action. The right-hander has been out for the entirety of the 2025 campaign to this point while recovering from a right elbow procedure he underwent in June 2024. Manoah is expected to require a multi-start minor-league rehab assignment, which could begin as soon as next week.

The Padres optioned Hart to Triple-A El Paso on Monday.

Hart tossed 3.2 perfect innings of bulk relief in Sunday's win over the Rangers, and his reward is a trip back to the minors a day later. The lefty has likely earned another look with the big club eventually, but for now he will re-enter the rotation at El Paso.

The Padres transferred King (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Monday.

The transaction does not change King's timeline, as he is coming up on 60 days missed and is not close to rejoining the Padres' rotation. He is, however, making progress, as King has thrown multiple times on flat ground and will have a "touch and feel" bullpen session Thursday. King will need a few sessions off the mound and likely a rehab assignment before a timetable for his return becomes clearer.

The Padres activated Darvish (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Darvish is set to make his season debut Monday against the Diamondbacks following a long recovery from right elbow inflammation. The veteran righty hasn't pitched in an official game since he made a rehab start May 14, but he has been ramping up with a series of simulated games. Darvish threw 64 pitches in his last simulated game, so he will have a limited workload versus Arizona.

King (shoulder) will throw a "touch and feel" bullpen session Thursday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

King played catch again Monday and will expand his flat-ground throwing to 120 feet Tuesday. While it will not be a regular bullpen session Thursday, it will be the first time King has thrown off a mound since he went down in mid-May with a pinched thoracic nerve in his right shoulder. King has a lot of boxes to check before he can be considered for a return to the Padres' rotation, but he's moving in the right direction.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday that Glasnow (shoulder) will be activated from the 60-day injured list and start Wednesday in Milwaukee, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Roberts had previously said Glasnow would be back sometime this week, and now he's revealed the exact day the right-hander will make his return to the rotation. Glasnow has been sidelined for more than two months due to a shoulder injury and didn't pitch well in three rehab starts, posting an 8.31 ERA, 2.08 WHIP and 12:5 K:BB in 8.2 innings. Glasnow went 4.1 frames and threw 78 pitches in his most recent rehab outing for Triple-A Oklahoma City last Thursday, so he will be on a somewhat restricted pitch count Wednesday.

The Red Sox announced that Crawford (knee) underwent successful surgery Thursday to reconstruct the stabilizing sheath of the extensor carpi ulnaris in his right wrist, MLB.com reports.

Initially placed on the injured list before Opening Day due to right patellar tendiopathy, Crawford had advanced to pitching in simulated games in May before plans to send him out on a minor-league rehab assignment were tabled in early June due to right wrist pain. According to Sean McAdam of MassLive.com, manager Alex Cora said June 25 that Crawford sustained the wrist injury in an off-field "accident," but the skipper didn't go into any further details beyond noting that it wasn't due to any irresponsibility on the right-hander's part. Cora said that Crawford's season is "most likely" over as a result of his surgery, so the 29-year-old will turn his focus to returning to full health heading into spring training. Crawford entered arbitration for the first time last winter and is under club control through the 2028 season.
