The Mets reinstated Megill (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

As expected, the righty is activated prior to Monday's series-opener in Milwaukee. All nine of his big-league appearances to date in 2021 are starts, but he'll be pitching in relief for the remainder of the season. It will interesting to see how his stuff, which included a high-90s fastball prior to the shoulder injury, looks in his new role. Further, it remains to be seen whether Megill receives high-leverage innings and the opportunity for holds.

Rogers is dealing with a Grade 1 lat strain and will be shut down for the remainder of the season, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Rogers exited Saturday's start against the Nationals due to his lat issue and will be unavailable for the final few weeks of the regular season. However, his strain is considered relatively minor, so it seems likely that he'll be able to have a relatively normal offseason program. After posting a career-best 2.64 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 133 innings last season, the southpaw struggled to replicate his results in 2022, generating a 5.47 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 107 innings over 23 starts.

Elder was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Elder will return to the big leagues after being sent down Sept. 4, joining Atlanta's bullpen for the stretch run. The right-hander has produced a 3.67 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 30 strikeouts over 34.1 frames in seven appearances including six starts with Atlanta this season. William Woods was sent down to Gwinnett in a corresponding move.

Cobb allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Sunday.

Cobb allowed an RBI double to Justin Turner in the fourth inning and an RBI single to Freddie Freeman in the sixth. It was the just second time in five starts that Cobb's allowed runs to score, with both of those instances coming against the Dodgers. The right-hander has been quietly effective with a 3.48 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 136:40 K:BB through 134.2 innings across 25 starts this season. He'll look to get back in the win column next week in a projected road start versus Arizona.

Heaney allowed two hits and a walk while striking out eight over four scoreless innings versus the Giants on Sunday. He did not factor into the decision.

Heaney threw just 65 pitches (44 strikes) in the outing, which was his shortest since Aug. 13. Despite the short start, he was able to tally eight strikes for the fifth time in his last six starts, and he kept runs off the board for the first time since July 27. The southpaw now has a 2.66 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 92:16 K:BB through 61 innings across 13 starts this season. He's projected for a home start versus the Cardinals in his next start.

Alexander allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five in 3.2 innings during Sunday's loss to the Yankees. He didn't factor into the decision.

Alexander struggled against the long ball during Sunday's high-scoring matchup, giving up three home runs over the first three innings of the game, including back-to-back solo shots in the top of the third inning. The right-hander has given up at least three runs in four of his last five outings, and he's posted a 6.14 ERA and 20:8 K:BB in 22 innings during that time. He projects to make his next start on the road against Cincinnati on Friday.

Darvish (15-7) earned the win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday. He allowed a hit and a walk while striking out eight over six scoreless innings.

For the third time in four starts, Darvish limited an opponent to two or fewer hits and no runs. He's won five straight outings, giving up just six runs across 34 innings in that span. The right-hander's impressive stretch has helped him lower his ERA to 3.05 with a 0.93 WHIP and 183:35 K:BB through 182.2 innings across 28 starts this year. Darvish will look to keep rolling in a road start versus the Rockies in his next outing.

Falter yielded one run on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings against Atlanta on Sunday. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Falter had earned a win in five straight outings before failing to record a decision in Sunday's loss. The only damage against him came from Robbie Grossman's RBI double in the third frame. Falter is now sporting a 3.68 ERA with a 62:15 K:BB through 17 appearances. The 25-year-old southpaw is sporting a 2.45 ERA across his last seven starts. Falter is projected to start at home against Atlanta next week.

Strider (11-5) allowed one run on a hit and three walks over six innings Sunday, striking out 10 and earning a win over the Phillies.

Strider fired five shutout frames before Alec Bohm tagged him with a solo shot in the sixth inning. The electrifying rookie recorded double-digit strikeouts for the sixth time this season and now owns a terrific 202:45 K:BB through just 131.2 frames. Strider has given up two or fewer earned runs in 13 of his last 15 starts, posting a 2.25 ERA across 84 frames during that stretch. He's lined up to start in Philadelphia next week.

Alcantara (13-8) allowed one run on seven hits and a walk in a complete-game win over Washington on Sunday. He struck out seven batters.

Alcantara continued his push for the NL Cy Young with yet another terrific performance Sunday. The lone run against him came during the fourth inning on Luis Garcia's double-play groundout. The 27-year-old righty lowered his ERA to 2.37 across a league-leading 212.2 innings. Alcantara has thrown three complete games since the start of August, posting a 3.27 ERA with a 50:10 K:BB through nine starts during that stretch. He's lined up for a rematch with the Nationals at home next week.
