  • Ricky Nolasco SP | ARI

Twins' Ricky Nolasco: Earns win over Angels

Nolasco (3-4) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts in Monday's win over the Angels.

Nolasco induced a strong 11 swinging strikes in 106 pitches and induced eight groundball outs in the victory. He now has three quality starts in his last four outings, but Nolasco is still proving hittable. He has allowed 87 hits in just 77.1 innings and has allowed more hits than innings pitched in six of his 13 starts now. Nolasco has a much higher ERA (4.57) than FIP (3.80) for his career for this very reason. No matter how sparkly his K/BB gets (now up to 4.9), it's hard to believe in him getting his ERA much lower than its current mark of 5.12.

  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Strikes out eight in loss

Carrasco (2-2) was a tough-luck loser Monday despite holding Kansas City to two runs over six innings. He allowed 10 hits and walked one while striking out eight.

Despite the 10 hits allowed, Monday's start was Carrasco's best since coming of the disabled list in early June. The righty has been impressive when on the field this season, striking out 36 compared to eight walks. He'll make his next start Sunday against the White Sox.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Rangers' Yu Darvish: Placed back on 15-day DL

Darvish (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday, retroactive to June 9, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports

Darvish returned from the DL on May 28 after going through Tommy John surgery. He started three games, but had to exit his most recent contest after the fifth inning when he experienced shoulder tightness. Darvish posted a 19:6 K:BB in his short return to action to go along with five earned runs given up in 15.2 innings. He's currently without a timetable for return.

  • Andrew Heaney RP | LAD

Angels' Andrew Heaney: Ultrasound shows healing is working

Heaney (elbow) underwent an ultrasound on his UCL and was told it is healing, but is still unsure of when he will resume throwing, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports.

Heaney landed on the disabled list in early April due to his damaged UCL. His progress after the stem-cell treatment he received six weeks ago is encouraging, but he'll need to continue improving in order to avoid Tommy John surgery completely.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Mariners' Wade Miley: Lasts five innings in loss to Rangers

Miley allowed three runs on four hits and three walks across just five innings in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. He struck out six.

The left-hander cruised into the fourth inning, but the Rangers struck quickly, plating three runs on a double and a home run that gave them the lead for good. He labored a bit, needing 97 pitches to make it through five frames, but he did throw 60% strikes and allowed just four runners past first base. Miley has been rather inconsistent this season, as his 5.28 ERA will reflect, and things will not get any easier, as he will face the Red Sox on the road Saturday in his next start.

  • Cole Hamels SP | SD

Rangers' Cole Hamels: Beats Mariners in quality start

Hamels tossed seven inning of one-run ball versus the Mariners on Sunday, striking out five and walking two en route to his sixth win of the season.

The left-hander was on point Sunday, as he allowed just four runners past first base and lowered his ERA to 3.14 with his third consecutive quality start. Hamels boasts a solid 8.8 K/9 rate to supplement that figure, and he is on pace to surpass last season's total of 13 wins for a red hot Rangers club. His next start will come Friday at St. Louis.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Astros' Dallas Keuchel: Becomes league's first nine-game loser Sunday

Keuchel (3-9) was derailed by one bad inning Sunday, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks over five innings while striking out nine in a 5-0 loss to the Rays.

He traded goose eggs with Matt Moore for four innings, but the wheels came off for Keuchel in the fifth. He's now the first pitcher in the majors to nine losses, and while his 34:4 K:BB in 31.1 innings over his last five starts is excellent, he's still stumbled to a 5.75 ERA over that stretch. Keuchel's next start is scheduled for Sunday at home against the Reds.

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Allows two runs in losing effort Sunday

Rodon (2-6) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven over seven innings to take the loss Sunday against the Royals.

Rodon struggled to retire batters in the first two innings, and was fortunate to hold the Royals to just a pair of runs. However, he settled down significantly with four shutout innings to end his afternoon, though the White Sox were unable to give him much offensive support. He'll make his next start Saturday at the Indians.

  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Rays' Blake Snell: Will start for the Rays on Thursday

Snell will be recalled from Triple-A Durham to start Thursday against the Mariners, Steve Carney of 620 AM Tampa Bay reports.

Snell will take the rotation spot of Matt Andriese, who will move to the bullpen as a result of a corresponding announcement. Snell was solid in his first MLB start against the Yankees, tossing five innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts. If he can put together another strong outing this time around, freelance Rays writer Roger Mooney suggests there is a possibility the young left-hander could be here to stay. Considering Snell's pedigree, this news makes him a highly attractive waiver wire option for leagues with a Sunday deadline.

  • Neil Ramirez RP | CLE

Twins' Neil Ramirez: Claimed by the Twins

Ramirez was claimed off waivers by the Twins on Sunday.

Ramirez logged just two appearances with Milwaukee, and in his most recent one, surrendered two long balls to the Phillies. This led to the right-hander getting designated for assignment, but it took less than four days for the reliever to find a new home. Even in the shaky Minnesota bullpen, look for Ramirez to serve in middle relief. He'll likely join the club during their upcoming three-game series in Los Angeles.
