  • Indians' Carlos Carrasco: Named Wednesday starter

Carrasco will start Wednesday's game against the Twins in Puerto Rico, Nick Camino of Newsradio WTAM 1100 reports.

The start will come a full week after Carrasco's previous outing since postponements of games Saturday and Sunday against the Blue Jays coupled with Monday's team off day forced the Indians to push back all members of their rotation in the pitching schedule. The extra rest was probably beneficial for Carrasco, who needed 110 pitches to earn a complete-game win over the Tigers his last time out April 11. Carrasco will have a tougher path to victory Wednesday while going head-to-head against emerging ace Jose Berrios and facing a Twins offense that ranks ninth in the majors with a 109 wRC+ on the season.

  • Astros' Justin Verlander: Fans 11 in no-decision

Verlander allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out 11 as he took a no-decision Sunday against the Rangers.

Verlander put together an outstanding performance but was unable to factor into the decision with Bartolo Colon carrying a perfect game into the eighth inning. He's sporting a 1.35 ERA and 0.75 WHIP with 34 strikeouts across 26.2 innings in his first four starts of the season. Verlander will look to keep it rolling in his next start, which figures to come Thursday against the Mariners.

  • Matthew Boyd SP | CHC

Tigers' Matt Boyd: Slated for Wednesday's start

Boyd is listed as the probable starter for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Boyd's third start of the season will come three days later than he was initially expected after postponements Saturday and Sunday against the Yankees forced the Tigers to push each of their starters back in the pitching schedule. While the shuffling of the schedule denied Boyd of a two step last week, he'll at least trade a matchup against a powerful Yankees squad with a more favorable one at home against an Orioles offense that ranked 23rd in the majors in terms of wRC+ entering play Sunday.

  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Loses second consecutive start

Bundy (0-2) gave up three runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.2 innings in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Red Sox.

Bundy opened the game by throwing four shutout innings but proceeded to surrender three runs over the next two frames. He threw a wild pitch that allowed one run to cross the plate and gave up two more as Boston started to get into rhythm at the dish. Despite still searching for his first victory of the season, Bundy owns a stellar 1.40 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. He'll have a challenging matchup the next time he takes the mound, as his next start figures to come Friday against the Indians.

  • Chris Sale SP | ATL

Red Sox's Chris Sale: Strikes out eight in no-decision

Sale allowed one run on two hits and two walks over five innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Orioles.

Sale fanned eight batters during his time in Sunday's game, throwing 56 of his 93 pitches for strikes. Although he has just one victory over four starts, Sale has been his usual dominant self thus far and has yet to allow more than one run in an outing. He'll look to continue his terrific start to the season Saturday, with his next game projecting to be a matchup against the Athletics.

  • Luis Severino SP | ATH

Yankees' Luis Severino: Slated to start Monday

Severino will start Monday's game against the Marlins, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Severino's start against the Tigers on Sunday was postponed due to inclement weather, so he'll now start the first game of the team's upcoming two-game series against the Marlins. He'll be followed by Masahiro Tanaka on Tuesday and CC Sabathia (hip) on Thursday.

  • Luis Severino SP | ATH

Yankees' Luis Severino: Sunday start postponed

Severino will not make his scheduled start Sunday against the Tigers as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Both games of Sunday's doubleheader have now been postponed due to poor weather. Severino might simply have his start pushed back to Monday, but no formal announcement has yet been made.

  • Jose Berrios SP | TOR

Twins' Jose Berrios: Starting Wednesday vs. Indians

Berrios will start Wednesday's game against the Indians in Puerto Rico.

The Twins' pitching schedule has been in flux after the entire three-game series this weekend against the White Sox was postponed due to inclement weather in Minnesota, but Berrios was always believed to be in line for a start either Tuesday or Wednesday in Puerto Rico, his native country. He'll take the hill for the second game of the two-game set, resulting in Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson getting their next starts pushed back to next weekend.

  • Twins' Jake Odorizzi: Will start Tuesday in Puerto Rico

Odorizzi will start Tuesday against the Indians in Puerto Rico.

Odorizzi had been in line to start in one of the Twins' three games with the White Sox over the weekend, but all three contests were postponed after inclement weather hit Minneapolis. With conditions expected to be much more favorable Tuesday, Odorizzi shouldn't be in much jeopardy of having another start pushed back, and will have the benefit of pitching on six days' rest. Assuming the Twins experience no further postponements during the upcoming week, Odorizzi would line up for a second start April 22 in Tampa Bay.

  • Michael Kopech SP | LAD

White Sox's Michael Kopech: Takes different path Saturday

Kopech allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings for Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Kopech usually puts up eye-popping strikeout numbers, but he took a different approach Saturday, inducing 11 groundball outs and leaving with a lead, which was blown by the Knights' bullpen. He's allowed just one run on seven hits over 10 innings thus far, but we're tracking his progress in the number of walks he allows. Four walks over 10 innings is good, but we'd like to see that number tick downward.
