Yoendrys Gomez RP | TB
White Sox's Yoendrys Gomez: Punches out four in third loss
Gomez (3-3) was charged with the loss Saturday against the Padres, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
Gomez worked at least five innings for the fifth straight outing, but he's still without a quality start in 2025. The swingman has a 4.92 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 53:27 K:BB across 56.2 innings (eight starts), leaving his fantasy value quite limited outside of the most favorable matchups. Gomez is scheduled to get one more chance to leave an impression in the Chicago rotation ahead of 2026 next weekend against the Nationals.

Adrian Houser SP | TB
Rays' Adrian Houser: Manages quality start Saturday
Houser didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Red Sox, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in six innings. He struck out two.
Houser may not have been dominant, but he did just enough to hold the Red Sox in check and log his second straight quality start. The right-hander's effectiveness has taken a hit since he joined the Rays, as he has a 4.65 ERA over 50.1 innings for Tampa Bay, but it's still been a fine campaign as a whole. Across 119 frames, Houser has a 3.18 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 87:36 K:BB. He's set to wrap up the year next weekend in Toronto.

Kyle Harrison SP | BOS
Red Sox's Kyle Harrison: Impressive in first Red Sox start
Harrison didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Rays, allowing one run on four hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out five.
Saturday was Harrison's first start with the Red Sox since being acquired from San Francisco as part of the Rafael Devers trade, and it couldn't have gone much better. It was the southpaw's first quality start of the season, and he also generated 11 swinging strikes. Harrison has been effective when healthy in 2025, posting a 3.58 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 32:11 K:BB over 32.2 innings, and Boston figures to give him one more look in its rotation during the regular season next weekend against Detroit.

Jack Leiter P | TEX
Rangers' Jack Leiter: Hit around in 10th loss
Leiter (9-10) was charged with the loss Saturday against the Marlins, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk in 5.2 innings. He struck out four.
The eight hits allowed tied a season high for Leiter, who permitted greater than three runs for the first time since his June 17 start against the Royals. The right-hander has still emerged as a reliable member of Texas' rotation for the most part in 2025, throwing at least five innings in 19 of his 28 outings. Leiter's final appearance of the year is set to come next weekend in Cleveland, one into which he'll carry a 3.92 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 138:66 K:BB over 144.2 frames.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Angels' Kyle Hendricks: Bounces back for eighth win
Hendricks (8-10) allowed three hits and struck out five without walking a batter over seven shutout innings to earn the win Saturday versus the Rockies.
This was Hendricks' fourth scoreless outing of the season, two of which have come in September. Saturday's performance was a big bounce-back effort for the right-hander, who had been shelled for nine runs in 3.1 innings in his previous start against Seattle. Hendricks lowered his ERA to 4.79 and has added a 1.28 WHIP and 106:43 K:BB through 159.2 innings over 30 starts this season. He is projected for one more start this season, which is lined up to be at home against the Astros.

Keider Montero SP | DET
Tigers' Keider Montero: Short outing Saturday
Montero didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-5 loss to Atlanta, giving up three runs on two hits and four walks over three innings. He struck out two.
The right-hander needed 69 pitches (40 strikes) to record nine outs, and both hits off Montero left the yard in the third to help chase him from the game. Since returning to the majors in September, Montero's posted a 3.46 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB through four appearances (two starts) and 13 innings. He's expected to make one more start before the end of the regular season, on the road next weekend in Boston.

Merrill Kelly SP | TEX
Rangers' Merrill Kelly: Bumped up to start Sunday
Kelly will start Sunday's game against the Marlins, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Patrick Corbin was lined up to start, but he'll have his turn skipped due to the Rangers having an off day Thursday. Texas is clinging to very slim playoff hopes, so the team will instead turn to Kelly, who has a solid 4.06 ERA and 1.22 WHIP since being acquired at the trade deadline.

George Kirby SP | SEA
Mariners' George Kirby: Sharp in 10th victory
Kirby (10-7) earned the win Saturday at Houston, pitching six scoreless innings while allowing five hits and no walks. He struck out seven.
The Seattle right-hander reached double figures in wins for the third consecutive season with this 100-pitch effort. The Astros never came close to sniffing a run against Kirby, who didn't allow an extra-base hit and tallied his 12th quality start of the season. Through 121 total frames, the 27-year-old now sports a 4.24 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 127:28 K:BB. Kirby tentatively projects to make his final start of the season at home against the vaunted Dodgers next weekend.

Framber Valdez SP | HOU
Astros' Framber Valdez: Struggles again with control
Valdez (12-11) took the loss in the Saturday's contest against the Mariners, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
The Houston southpaw issued four free passes for the second consecutive outing, and he's now yielded four or more walks eight times this season across 30 total starts. The Seattle lineup kept peppering Valdez with baserunners and runs, with the fourth inning the only frame in which he didn't allow a run. The 31-year-old lefty has labored since the All-Star break, producing an uncharacteristic 5.63 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 64 frames. Valdez is currently scheduled to make his final start of the season on the road against the Athletics next week.

Tomoyuki Sugano SP | BAL
Orioles' Tomoyuki Sugano: Jumped early in loss
Sugano (10-9) took the loss against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts over three innings.
Sugano allowed a three-run homer in the first inning and a solo shot in the third while generating just seven whiffs on 87 pitches. The 35-year-old has allowed four runs or more in four of his past five starts and has been limited to only three frames in two of his three September outings. He owns a 4.54 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 103:36 K:BB across 152.2 innings and lines up to close his campaign in a road rematch with the Yankees next weekend.
