Ryu (hip) will be activated from the 10-day injured list and start Thursday against the Athletics, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

The 34-year-old landed on the injured list with a glute strain April 28, and he'll return Thursday after spending the 10-day minimum on the shelf. Ryu has a 2.60 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 26:3 K:BB across 27.2 innings through five starts this season.

Kikuchi (1-2) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven across seven innings, taking the loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

Kikuchi tossed seven strong innings but was outdone by John Means, who threw a complete game no-hitter. Kikuchi struggled in April, but he provided 14 innings in his last two starts and allowed just three runs during that span while posting a 14:3 K:BB. The 30-year-old has pitched to a 4.30 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 37.2 innings overall this season.

Means (4-0) tossed a complete game no-hitter en route to claiming the win in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Mariners, facing the minimum 27 batters while striking out 12.

Means was the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter without surrendering a walk, hit-by-pitch or a team error. However, he lost his chance at a perfect game in the third inning on a strike-three wild pitch that allowed Sam Haggerty to reach first base. Haggerty was caught stealing, which ultimately kept Means at a minimum amount of batters faced. The Orioles pitcher has been outstanding to start the season, boasting a 1.37 ERA and a 0.67 WHIP with 50 strikeouts in 46 innings.

Detmers will begin his minor-league career with the Double-A Rocket City Trash Pandas, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Detmers was the Angels' first-round pick in the 2020 first-year player draft but wasn't able to log any professional innings last season due to the cancellation of the minor-league season. He was thought to be in contention for a big-league bullpen role coming out of spring training, but the decision was ultimately made to have him start the season at Double-A. The left-hander was originally scheduled to make his pro debut Tuesday, but a weather-related postponement means that he will instead start Wednesday.

Keuchel surrendered only two hits and three walks across seven scoreless innings during Wednesday's extra-inning loss at Cincinnati. He had one strikeout and didn't factor in the decision.

The 33-year-old has issued three-plus walks in each of his past two starts, but he was otherwise extremely effective against the Reds during Wednesday's series finale. Sonny Gray similarly blanked the White Sox, leading both starters to receive a no-decision despite neither allowing a run. Keuchel has a 3.79 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 17:14 K:BB across 38 innings through seven starts in 2021.

Astros general manager James Click said Wednesday that Odorizzi (forearm) is "trending toward maybe needing a rehab start or two" before being activated from the 10-day injured list, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

After noting just a few days earlier that he believed Odorizzi would be ready to rejoin the Astros without requiring a rehab assignment beforehand, Click is now walking back those comments. Click reiterated that Odorizzi's forearm remains structurally sound, so the Astros are seemingly just taking some extra caution by plotting out a minor-league assignment for the veteran right-hander. Luis Garcia -- who is scheduled to start Wednesday against the Yankees -- looks like he'll be able to make at least one more turn through the rotation after that before Odorizzi rejoins the mix.

Manning fanned six batters but allowed three homers in his five-inning season debut at Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

All told, Manning allowed six hits, five runs and a walk over his five innings. He found the strike zone with 51 of his 80 pitches but was obviously done in by the long ball. He'll look to build on the effort in his next start and remains a candidate for a rotation spot later in the summer if he can remain healthy.

Garcia is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Garcia stepped back in the rotation last week to replace Jake Odorizzi (forearm) and acquitted himself well in a loss to the Mariners, giving up a run over five innings while striking out six. With Odorizzi still sidelined with the injury, Garcia will be awarded another start, but the matchup is much less cushy this time around. Not only will be tasked with making his first appearance at Yankee Stadium, but he'll also have to slow down a surging New York offense that's beginning to hit its stride after a miserable start to the season. The Yankees have won six of their last seven contests while averaging 5.7 runs per game over that stretch.

Bielak (1-1) was tagged with the loss Tuesday, giving up two runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one in a 7-3 loss to the Yankees.

Bielak, who entered after starter Zack Greinke lasted just four innings, pitched a scoreless fifth before departing with two on and two out in the sixth. Bryan Abreu came in and walked the nine-hole hitter before an Alex Bregman throwing error cleared the bases. Bielak, a starter turned reliever, has thrown more than one inning in five of his six outings and has a 4.30 ERA over 14.2 innings.

Irvin (3-3) earned the win over Toronto on Tuesday, pitching eight innings and allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out nine.

The southpaw became the first Athletics pitcher to complete eight frames this season while striking out a season-high nine batters. He tossed 71 of 102 pitches for strikes and allowed only one extra-base hit in the contest. The strong outing lowered Irvin's season ERA to 3.09 to go along with a 34:5 K:BB across 35 innings. He has been especially impressive over his past four starts, compiling a 1.42 ERA and 0.99 WHIP. He'll try to keep rolling in his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday at home versus Tampa Bay.
