Urquidy was removed from Wednesday's start against the Angels with an apparent injury, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The right-hander showcased a slight decrease in velocity during the fourth inning before being visited by the athletic trainer and leaving the field. Urquidy had four strikeouts and didn't give up a run over 3.2 innings before being lifted.

Wells pitched two scoreless innings with one walk and no strikeouts in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Mets.

Wells entered in the seventh inning of a lopsided game, but he kept it from getting any worse. The 26-year-old has a 5.40 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB across 15 innings in nine appearances. This was just the third time this season Wells has kept runs off the board -- he's likely to continue in a low-leverage role.

Rodon was pushed back from starting Thursday due to back and hamstring tightness, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

The 28-year-old is now scheduled to start Saturday, so the back and hamstring issues don't appear to be serious concerns. Rodon doesn't appear to be in danger of missing a start, but it's worth keeping an eye on his status over the next couple days.

Gilbert will be called up by the Mariners to start Thursday's game against Cleveland, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Gilbert will make his major-league debut after he made just one appearance for Triple-A Tacoma to begin the season. During that outing, he gave up a run on four hits and no walks while striking out five in five innings. Assuming he pitches well Thursday, Gilbert could remain in the Mariners' six-man rotation going forward, especially while Marco Gonzales (forearm), Nick Margevicius (shoulder) and Ljay Newsome (elbow) are sidelined.

Odorizzi (forearm) looked good while throwing 35 pitches in live batting practice Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Following his successful throwing session Wednesday, Odorizzi is expected to start for Triple-A Sugar Land in the near future as part of a rehab assignment. Odorizzi said that he'll need at least two starts in the minors, and his first appearance with Triple-A Sugar Land should be Monday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports. Given that timeline, fantasy managers shouldn't expect Odorizzi to be activated from the 10-day injured list until the final week of May at the earliest.

Rodon's next start has been moved from Thursday against the Twins to Saturday against the Royals, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Lance Lynn will start Thursday in place of Rodon, whom manager Tony La Russa said was battling some hamstring tightness of late, according to Scott Merkin of MLB.com. The hamstring issue isn't serious enough to send Rodon to the 10-day injured list, so he'll just be getting some extra maintenance between starts. Rodon struck out eight batters over six scoreless innings in his most recent start May 7, which was also against Kansas City.

Gilbert could be recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners haven't yet named a starter for Friday's game against Cleveland, and the team's pitching staff has been dealing with various injuries recently. While the Mariners had been using relievers to fill the six-man rotation, the team hasn't ruled out recalling Gilbert to make his major-league debut. Gilbert made his 2021 debut with Triple-A Tacoma on Friday and allowed a run on four hits and no walks while striking out five in five innings. The right-hander lines up to make his next start Friday, so he would be pitching on normal rest if he debuts against Cleveland.

Kaprielian was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of his start Wednesday against the Red Sox.

Kaprielian will make his season debut as the starter in Wednesday's matchup against Boston. He made two relief appearances for Oakland last year and posted a 7.36 ERA and 1.64 WHIP in 3.2 innings. Right-hander Jordan Weems was sent down by Oakland in a corresponding move.

Severino (elbow) is dealing with a stiff back Wednesday and will throw his live BP on Thursday, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Severino was initially expected to face hitters Wednesday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery last February. Outside of Wednesday's minor setback, the right-hander has been progressing well in his recovery in recent weeks and could return to game action around the middle of July.

Ray allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out a season-high 10 hitters over six innings Tuesday against Atlanta. He did not factor into the decision.

Ray got off to a bumpy start after allowing two singles and a walk, which led to a first-inning run for Atlanta. He later would also give up two solo home runs before his day was over. The 29-year-old has had a bit of an issue so far with the long ball, as he's given up eight so far over his first six outings; however, he's relatively reliable otherwise while logging at least five innings and surrendering three or fewer runs in each of his starts. He'll look to notch a win in his next scheduled start, slated for this weekend at home against the Phillies.
