Keuchel allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and a walk in one inning versus the Cubs on Friday. He struck out one and did not factor in the decision.

In what ended up being a slugfest, Keuchel gave up a three-run shot to Patrick Wisdom. The White Sox were down six runs before they got to bat, but they got Keuchel off the hook with an eight-run third inning. The southpaw has had an ugly run lately, allowing four or more runs in five of his last seven starts. He has a 5.00 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 83:47 K:BB through 136.2 innings. The 33-year-old lines up for a road start in Kansas City during next weekend's three-game series. It's unlikely he'll pitch on short rest after a short outing given the White Sox have two off days next week. The bigger concern for Keuchel could be a challenge from Reynaldo Lopez for a rotation spot, as the latter pitched five perfect innings in relief Friday.

Cole (13-6) allowed six hits and two walks over six scoreless innings Friday, striking out nine and earning a win over Oakland.

Aside from a bases-loaded threat in the fifth inning, Cole rolled through six shutout frames without much resistance from the Athletics. It was his third straight win and second straight scoreless start, dropping his season ERA to 2.80 through 148 frames. Over his last three outings, Cole has given up one run over 17.2 innings (0.51 ERA) with a 24:4 K:BB. He's projected to face the Angels on the road next week.

Odorizzi allowed two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out five in five innings versus Texas on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

The right-hander gave up runs in the fourth and fifth innings before he was relieved by Phil Maton. Odorizzi has completed five innings in each of his last four starts, collecting two wins in that span. He's trimmed his ERA to 4.46 with a 1.25 WHIP and 75:29 K:BB across 84.2 innings overall. The 31-year-old projects for a road start in Seattle next week.

Albers (1-0) allowed three hits and a walk over 5.1 shutout innings Friday, striking out two and earning a win over the Brewers.

Making his first big-league start since 2017, Albers rolled through the Brewers' lineup without much resistance. He escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning but didn't see much of a threat at any other point. He's sporting a 0.96 ERA with a 6:2 K:BB through 9.1 innings since he was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul.

McClanahan (8-2) allowed two runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out four in six innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Friday.

McClanahan has allowed at least six baserunners in each of his last five starts, but he's earned wins in each of those outings. The right-hander matched his lowest strikeout total of the season Friday, but he still limited run production against the struggling Orioles. He's picked up wins in six of his seven starts since the All-Star break and has posted a 2.90 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 40.1 innings during that time. McClanahan tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Manning pitched six innings of one-run ball but did not factor into the decision Friday against the Blue Jays, He allowed six hits and a walk while striking out five.

Manning and Toronto starter Steven Matz both allowed just one run through six innings, so Manning was denied his fourth win of the season. However, this was a step in the right direction for the 23-year-old, who had allowed 11 earned runs across his last three starts (14.2 innings pitched). Manning will take a 5.46 ERA into his next scheduled start Thursday against the Athletics and will look to build on this encouraging outing.

The Mariners are hopeful that Dunn (shoulder) will be able to throw a bullpen session in the coming days, Corey Brock of The Athletic reports.

Dunn has been on the injured list since June 18 due to a right shoulder strain but suffered a setback in his recovery in early August. If the right-hander is unable to progress to throwing a bullpen in the near future, the Mariners are expected shut him down for the remainder of the season.

Rodriguez (10-7) picked up the win Friday pitching seven innings while allowing three runs on eight hits with one walk and two strikeouts in a win over Cleveland.

The veteran southpaw tied his season-high with seven innings pitched Friday. While Rodriguez did surrender eight hits for the second consecutive start, the left-hander was able to limit the damage with all three runs coming via home runs from Jose Ramirez and Yu Chang. After throwing a season-high 109 pitches Friday, Rodriguez is tentatively scheduled to take the mound next week against Tampa Bay.

Sandoval (back) will miss the remainder of the season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Sandoval landed on the 10-day injured list in mid-August due to a left lumbar stress reaction, and general manager Perry Minasian confirmed Friday that the southpaw will miss the remainder of the season. The 24-year-old put together a career-best season in 2021 with a 3.62 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 87 innings across 17 appearances (14 starts).

Manager Bob Melvin said Friday that he's "optimistic" Irvin (hip) will make his next scheduled start against Detroit on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Irvin allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks before exiting Tuesday's loss after three innings due to hip discomfort. Based on Melvin's comments, the lefty is trending toward being able to take the ball Tuesday in Detroit, but how he progresses in coming days will likely be the decisive factor in that decision. Daulton Jefferies is expected to start in his place if he's unable to go.
