Quantrill (8-3) picked up the win Monday versus the Royals, tossing six innings while giving up three runs on six hits and striking out five.

The 26-year-old gave up a run in the first inning on an RBI-double by Salvador Perez before surrendering two more runs in the third inning. He pitched three scoreless innings to finish the outing, notching his fourth straight quality start. Over that stretch, he has compiled a 1.67 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with a 4-0 record. He stands to face the Rangers in the season finale Sunday.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Rodon (arm) will start Wednesday's game against the Reds in Chicago after the southpaw completed a bullpen session Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

La Russa was hopeful that a week and a half away from game action would provide sufficient time for Rodon to overcome his bout with left arm soreness, but the skipper noted that the All-Star's side session was merely "OK." Rodon still proved healthy enough in the workout to gain clearance for his final start of the regular season, but it wouldn't be surprising if he had a short leash Wednesday as the White Sox aim to keep him fresh for the playoffs. With that in mind, Rodon isn't necessarily the must-start option this week that his stellar 2.47 ERA over 23 outings this season would normally make him.

The Yankees reinstated Taillon (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

The transaction was made in advance of Taillon's scheduled start in Tuesday's series opener in Toronto. Sidelined since Sept. 9 with the right ankle tendon injury, Taillon built up to three innings during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, giving up two runs while striking out two in his lone start for the affiliate. He'll likely face a light cap with his pitch count Tuesday, the first of what's expected to be two outings this week for the right-hander. Taillon tentatively lines up to start Sunday's regular-season finale with the Rays in New York.

Montgomery didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Red Sox after tossing five innings of one-run ball, allowing seven hits while striking out four.

Montgomery has been excellent of late and has given up one or fewer runs in each of his last three appearances while tossing at least five frames in each one of those contests. While he had an outing to forget against the Mets on Sept. 10, allowing seven runs (five earned) across 3.1 innings, he's been outstanding the rest of the month and owns a 3.33 ERA with a 12.2 K/9 and a 33:7 K:BB through 24.1 innings across five September appearances.

Rodriguez didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Yankees after allowing two runs on six hits and a walk across five innings, striking out eight.

Rodriguez extended his winless streak to four starts, though it's worth noting he has given up two or fewer runs in each of his last three trips to the mound. Despite a subpar outing against the Rays on Sep. 7, when he allowed six runs across just 3.2 innings, Rodriguez has been able to limit the damage most of the time and owns a 3.96 ERA across 25 innings (five appearances) this month.

Manoah (8-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out eight over 5.2 innings as he got the win over the Twins on Sunday.

Manoah found himself in some trouble early on. Two runners were in scoring position with one out in the opening frame but the hard-throwing rookie was able to get himself out of it with back-to-back strikeouts. He couldn't replicate the same success the following inning, however, as the Twins got two men on once again and got a run across. Manoah would later surrender his second run of the night when Byron Buxton took him deep in the fifth to make it a 4-2 ballgame. The 23-year-old rookie got up to 102 pitches in this one and pitched well enough to secure his third straight win. He now owns an impressive 3.35 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 117:39 K:BB over 104.2 innings. The American League Rookie of the Year candidate is expected to take the mound once more in the regular season next weekend against Baltimore.

Means (6-8) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out eight over five innings, taking the loss versus Texas on Sunday.

The southpaw gave up a two-run home run to Andy Ibanez in the fourth inning and an RBI double to Adolis Garcia in the fifth to account for the runs on his line. Means issued no walks for the first time in his five September starts. He's been effective this year with a 3.32 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 132:26 K:BB across 143.2 innings. The Baltimore ace should get one more start this year, tentatively scheduled for next weekend in Toronto.

Gonzales (10-5) got the win in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Angels, allowing one run on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in seven innings.

Going for his fourth victory of September, Gonzales limited the damage to a Kurt Suzuki solo home run and went round-for-round with Shohei Ohtani, who posted a similar line. The 29-year-old departed the game with the score knotted at 1-1 and fell in line for the win after Seattle posted four runs in the top of the eighth. Gonzales has now registered four straight quality starts and projects to face the Angels again during the final weekend of the regular season.

Dunning allowed two runs on a hit and five walks with five strikeouts in 4.2 innings Sunday versus Baltimore. He did not factor in the decision.

The right-hander struggled a bit, throwing just 37 of 71 pitches for strikes, and he came up one out shy of completing the fifth inning. It wasn't a bad start for Dunning, but the five walks were a season high. He's pitched to a 4.32 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 111:42 K:BB through 114.2 innings this season. He carries a 5-9 record into his final start of the year, tentatively set for the season finale at home versus Cleveland.

Odorizzi got a no-decision in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Oakland, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings.

Making his first start following a short IL stint, Odorizzi pitched well in permitting only one run but had traffic on the bases each inning and was limited to 82 pitches. The 31-year-old hasn't gone six innings in a start since early July and will likely get one final tune-up before the postseason next weekend against Oakland again.
