Eovaldi surrendered one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings in Tuesday's win over the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.

Eovaldi struggled to keep the Blue Jays off the bases in this one, allowing eight batters to reach before being yanked with two outs in the fifth inning. Ultimately, he was able to tightrope out of a lot of trouble, surrendering just one run on a Zack Collins solo homer in the top of the second frame, the fifth long ball he's allowed in three starts. Thankfully, only one of those blasts came with runners on base. All together, Eovaldi has produced a 3.78 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over three starts this season. He's still looking for his first win of the 2022 campaign.

Manager A.J. Hinch acknowledged that Manning (shoulder) is unlikely to make his next turn through the rotation Saturday against the Rockies in Detroit, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. "The initial diagnosis [of right shoulder discomfort] has been positive, that it's not anything that's going to linger and last a really long time," Hinch said of Manning. "I think the big question is whether he's going to be available for his start on Saturday. Right now, we'll probably err on the side of caution."

Detroit may wait another day or two to see if Manning is able to complete his usual between-starts bullpen session, but all signs appear to be pointing to the 24-year-old heading to the injured list for a brief spell. The Tigers will get some reinforcement to a depleted rotation with Michael Pineda expected to be called up from the minors to make his season debut Thursday against the Yankees, but Detroit still has Casey Mize (elbow) on the 10-day IL. If Manning can't go Saturday, long reliever Drew Hutchison -- who tossed three scoreless innings out of the bullpen last Saturday against the Royals -- could be called upon to make a spot start.

Mize, who was recently diagnosed with a medial elbow sprain, is considered day-to-day but remains without an official timeline to begin a throwing program, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Mize is dealing with less soreness compared to when he first experienced pain in his elbow following his April 14 start against the Royals, but he'll continue to receive treatment until the Tigers are confident he's no longer dealing with symptoms of the injury. For what it's worth, the club seems optimistic that Mize's injury isn't a significant one, but his hazy recovery timeline could make it tough to justify holding him, especially in shallower mixed leagues.

Gray (finger) was activated off the 10-day injured list and will start Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

The right-hander picked up a blister on his middle finger during the season opener April 8, and he'll end up spending just the 10-day minimum on the injured list. Gray threw 70 pitches over four innings in that start and could face some minor workload limitations Tuesday while coming off the brief absence.

The Red Sox placed Hill on the bereavement list Tuesday, Steve Hewitt of the Boston Herald reports.

Though he was able to make his scheduled start in Monday's loss to the Twins, Hill will take some time off to be with his family following the death of his father late last week. Hill will have to spend a minimum of three days on the list, but the expectation is that he'll rejoin the team before his next turn in the rotation comes up Saturday at Tampa Bay.

White Sox manager Tony La Russa said Giolito (abdomen) will throw a simulated game in Arizona on Tuesday and could be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Sunday's game in Minnesota, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

After two straight postponements to begin the week, the White Sox will begin a string of six games in five days Wednesday, and Giolito's potential return for the final contest of that stretch would be a fortunate development for Chicago's banged-up pitching staff. Before the White Sox sign off on him making his return this weekend, however, Giolito will need to prove in his simulated game that he's not compromised by the left abdominal strain that forced his early exit from his April 8 season debut. Because Giolito worked only four innings in that start and has been on the shelf for the past two weeks, he'll likely be on a limited pitch count if he gets the green light to rejoin the White Sox on Sunday.

Bieber and the Guardians won't face the White Sox on Tuesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Cleveland, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

As a result of the series opener being postponed for the second time in as many days, Bieber is now set to miss out on a two-start week. The two clubs will make up Tuesday's postponement as a traditional doubleheader Wednesday, with Bieber getting the ball for the first game of the twin bill, according to Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. With the Guardians now scheduled to play six games within the next five days, the team will have to add a temporary sixth starter to the mix at some point between Wednesday and Sunday.

Bradish has allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out nine in nine innings across two starts at Triple-A Norfolk.

He got a slightly delayed start after being held back in extended spring training for about a week, but Bradish seems as sharp as ever. The 25-year-old righty is on the 40-man roster, so he should join the big-league rotation this summer if he stays healthy.
