Whitlock didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 6-3 win over the Astros, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander kept Houston off the board for four frames before serving up a solo shot to Chas McCormick to lead off the fifth. Whitlock has yet to work more than five innings in any outing since moving into the rotation, but he's posted a 3.15 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB through 20 innings over his five starts.

Singer will be called up from Triple-A Omaha to start the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader with the White Sox, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Kansas City will presumably designate Singer as its 27th man for the twin bill, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be sent out to Omaha immediately after the outing. Instead, Singer's performance in his first start with the big club this season along with how Jonathan Heasley fares in Game 1 of the twin bill will likely determine which of the two sticks around in Kansas City as the team's No. 5 starter. After failing to win an Opening Day rotation spot and making three appearances out of the bullpen before being optioned to Omaha in late April, Singer gradually upped his pitch count in the minors while serving as a starter. He most recently tossed six innings for Omaha on May 11, conceding four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four in a game against Iowa.

Gray (1-1) allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Monday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Angels.

Gray gave up three runs in the first inning, including two runs from a Brandon Marsh single. He then coughed up another run on Andrew Velazquez's RBI single in the fourth. Gray has now given up at least three runs in four of his first five starts and has yet to complete six innings in any outing. He'll carry a 5.73 ERA into his projected start in Houston this weekend.

Syndergaard (3-2) allowed six runs (four earned) on four hits and two walks while taking a loss against the Rangers on Monday. He recorded two outs, including one strikeout.

Syndergaard took the mound with a 3-0 lead but he couldn't escape the first inning and ended up taking an ugly loss. He allowed just one extra-base hit, an RBI double by Adolis Garcia. His ERA jumped from 2.45 to 3.60 alongside a 22:8 K:BB through 30 innings on the year. Syndergaard will look for better results in his projected rematch with the Rangers at home next week.

Kikuchi (2-1) earned the win Monday after pitching six scoreless innings against the Mariners, giving up one hit and three walks while striking out six.

The 30-year-old was masterful Monday, limiting the Mariners to just four baserunners over six frames while registering his second win and second quality start of the year. Over his last three starts, Kikuchi has posted a 1.56 ERA and 0.75 WHIP with 20 punchouts over 17.1 innings. On the season, the left-hander owns a 3.38 ERA and 1.28 WHIP while allowing a career-low 5.91 H/9 over 32 innings.

Flexen (1-6) got the loss Monday, surrendering three runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out seven batters.

The right-hander gave up solo homers in both the first and second innings before getting pulled in the bottom of the sixth frame after walking two batters and recording one out. One of the men he left on base would come around to score for the final run on his line. It was the second straight outing where he has surrendered multiple home runs and he has now given up seven homers in seven starts this year. Monday's effort, mixed with Flexen's blow-up last week versus the Phillies, has raised his ERA from 3.10 to 4.35 on the campaign. He has now lost four straight decisions and will look to turn it around in his next start, which tentatively lines up to be Saturday at Boston.

Keller allowed three runs on eight hits over seven innings in Monday's loss to the White Sox. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Keller gave up a run in the third on Andrew Vaughn's sacrifice fly but most of the damage against him came from Yasmani Grandal's two-run shot in the fourth. The 26-year-old was saved from taking the loss when the Royals tied the game during the eighth. Keller has given up nine runs (eight earned) over his last two outings but he still owns a 2.89 ERA through 43.2 innings. He's lined up to face the Twins at home this weekend.

Cueto yielded two hits and two walks over six shutout innings in Monday's win over the Royals. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.

Cueto was in line to pick up the win in his White Sox debut before Kendall Graveman gave up three runs to tie the game in the eighth inning. Cueto retired the first nine batters he faced and only one Royal reached scoring position. He is projected for a tougher matchup this weekend when he takes the mound in Yankee Stadium.

Bradish (1-2) got the loss Monday after pitching 4.1 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and three walks while punching out six versus the Yankees.

Bradish got himself into a jam in the third inning, surrendering a run on a Giancarlo Stanton double. The big blow against him came in the next frame when Jose Trevino launched a three-run homer. Overall, the eight hits given up were his highest total of the year while the four runs matched a season-high. On the bright side, the right-hander has 17 punchouts over his last two outings after having only five in his prior two starts. In four starts this year, Bradish has a 5.06 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 22 strikeouts in 21.1 innings.

Severino (3-0) earned the win Monday after tossing six innings, surrendering one run on one hit and two walks while striking out seven against the Orioles.

The only blemish on Severino's line came in the bottom of the fourth frame, when Anthony Santander took him deep for a solo shot. He registered his first quality start of the season and has now won both times he's taken the mound against Baltimore this year. After registering 12 strikeouts over 16 innings his prior three starts, Severino now has 15 punchouts across 10.2 frames in his last two outings. Overall, the 28-year-old owns a 3.63 ERA and 1.18 WHIP with 38 strikeouts over 34.2 innings in 2022.
