German (shoulder) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Wednesday with Single-A Tampa, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Since German has been on the injured list all season with right shoulder impingement syndrome, he'll likely require several outings in the minors before being activated. German has made 56 of his 70 appearances with the Yankees over the past three seasons as a starter, but unless the big club endures a rash of injuries to its rotation in the weeks to come, he'll likely have to settle for a relief role once he's reinstated. German still has a minor-league option remaining, so the Yankees could choose to send him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre at the conclusion of his rehab assignment if the organization is still keen on having him stay stretched out for starting duties.

Singer (3-2) took the loss against the Athletics on Sunday, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out four and walking none in 5.1 innings.

Singer gave up three runs in Sunday's loss to Oakland thanks to home runs from Seth Brown and Sean Murphy. Singer threw 58 of 82 pitches for strikes in the outing. The righty has not lasted more than 5.2 innings since a seven-inning outing on May 22 and has been tagged for three or more earned runs in four of five appearances since then. Singer will take a 4.34 ERA into his next appearance.

Javier (4-3) earned the win Sunday over the White Sox. He allowed a run on two hits, four walks and a hit batter with five strikeouts in five innings.

Javier kept the White Sox off the board until Luis Robert hit an RBI double in the fifth inning. The right-hander wasn't particularly efficient, needing 93 pitches (58 strikes) to complete five frames, but it was enough for his first win in his last four starts. Javier has a 3.07 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 68:23 K:BB across 55.2 innings overall. He has a tough matchup on tap next weekend, as he's expected to draw a road start versus the Yankees.

Kopech (2-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Astros.

Kopech didn't have to miss a turn in the rotation after leaving last Sunday's start with knee discomfort. He wasn't great in his return to game action, with three of the four runs he allowed coming on home runs -- a solo shot by J.J. Matijevic in the fourth inning and a two-run blast from Mauricio Dubon in the fifth. Kopech has allowed multiple runs in only four of his 12 starts this season. He has a strong 2.38 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 55:25 K:BB through 56.2 innings. Sunday's was a tough matchup for the 26-year-old, but he lines up for a more favorable home start versus the Orioles next weekend.

Dunning (1-5) took the loss Sunday in Detroit, allowing five runs on four hits, four walks and a hit batsman. He struck out two in 4.2 innings.

Dunning got off to a rough start, giving up a three-run homer to Robbie Grossman before recording an out. He settled down and did not allow a hit in the next three innings but faltered in the fifth and was replaced after loading the bases with two outs. Over his last eight starts, the 27-year-old is 0-4 with a 5.11 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 39:17 K:BB in 44 innings. His next start will likely be next weekend against Washington.

Bieber allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Sunday.

Bieber was responsible for putting Eddy Alvarez on base in the seventh inning, and Eli Morgan let the inherited runner score after an error. The Guardians' offense picked up their starter over the final two frames, rallying for the win. With quality starts in six of his last seven outings -- and a rain-shortened start being the lone exception in that span -- Bieber is in fine form. The ace right-hander has a 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 84:18 K:BB across 78 innings in 13 starts overall. He's on track for a home start versus the Red Sox next weekend.

Kikuchi allowed three runs on three hits and two walks over four innings in Sunday's win over the Yankees. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.

Kikuchi coughed up two homers in the short outing, including a two-run blast from Josh Donaldson in the third inning. He failed to complete five innings for the fourth straight start, posting a brutal 9.45 ERA while allowing seven home runs during that span. The 31-year-old owns a 61:34 K:BB and a 4.94 ERA through 13 starts this season. Kikuchi is lined up to start in Milwaukee next week.

Severino yielded five runs on three hits and four walks over five innings in Sunday's loss to Toronto. He struck out nine and did not factor in the decision.

Severino was tagged early by Vladimir Guerrero's two-run shot in the first inning. He settled in to throw a few scoreless frames before George Springer hit a solo homer in the fifth. Severino was then charged with two more runs in the sixth while Miguel Castro was on the mound. It was the first time this season Severino issued more than two walks or allowed more than four runs in a start. The 28-year-old will carry a 3.27 ERA into his projected home start against Houston next week.

Gilbert (7-3) allowed two runs on four hits and no walks with six strikeouts in six innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Angels.

Gilbert was the latest Mariners pitcher to fall victim to Mike Trout, who took him deep in the fourth inning. With a lack of run support, Gilbert ended up with his first loss since May 17. He's still turned in seven straight quality starts, and he's logged a 2.28 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 82:23 K:BB through 83 innings in 14 starts overall. The right-hander lines up for a rematch at Angel Stadium next weekend.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Sunday that Paxton (elbow) is scheduled to throw two or three bullpen sessions during the upcoming week, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

While Cora relays that Paxton "felt great" coming out of his bullpen session Saturday -- his third since he resumed a throwing program -- the Red Sox don't plan on having the southpaw take another step forward in his rehab just yet. Instead, he'll continue ramping up the intensity of his bullpen sessions before potentially advancing to facing hitters the following week. Paxton, who underwent Tommy John surgery in mid-April of last year, is trending toward a second-half return from the 60-day injured list.
