Gilbert allowed five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters over five innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Saturday.

Gilbert never settled into a groove in the outing, allowing at least one run in each of his first four frames. The right-hander had struck out nine or more batters in three of his previous four starts but punched out only three Royals on Saturday. Gilbert also saw his six-game stretch of allowing two or fewer earned runs come to an end, though Seattle's offense helped him avoid taking a loss. He still owns a strong 3.29 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 13-6 record in his second major-league campaign.

Martin (2-5) took the loss against Detroit on Saturday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four batters over six innings.

As in his previous outing, Martin faced Detroit and lasted six innings to record a quality start. He was less sharp in this appearance, however, surrendering over twice as many hits and three runs. On a positive note, Martin rebounded nicely after giving up a two-run homer in the first inning, yielding just one more run the rest of the way. The rookie right-hander's 2-5 record is accompanied by a 3.86 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 39:17 K:BB over 56 innings.

Quantrill (14-5) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits over six innings against the Rangers. He struck out four and walked three.

Quantrill (14-5) was solid for six innings outside of a solo home run he served up to Marcus Semien in the third. The right-hander did walk two batters in the fifth inning but managed to escape without allowing any damage. Quantrill has now won his last 10 decisions and has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his last seven starts. He'll look to extend his winning streak against the Royals at home next week.

Dunning will undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his hip, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Dunning made a career-high 29 starts for the Rangers in 2022, and he posted a 4.46 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 153.1 innings. However, his season will be cut short due to his hip procedure. The right-hander's recovery timetable hasn't been determined, but the Rangers hope that he'll be ready for Opening Day in 2023.

Baz will undergo Tommy John surgery and won't play during the 2023 season, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Baz underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his elbow in late March and returned to action for a month just before the All-Star break, but he was shut down in mid-July with a right elbow sprain and had already been ruled out for the season. The Rays seemed optimistic about his recovery process, but the right-hander will be forced to miss the 2023 season since doctors have recommended Tommy John surgery.

Castillo and the Mariners agreed to terms on a five-year, $108 million extension Saturday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Castillo was due to become a free agent after the 2023 season, but he'll now be under contract through 2027, and potentially 2028 thanks to a vesting option. The deal is excellent news for Castillo's long-term fantasy value, as it means he's now set to remain in one of the best pitchers' parks in the league for the foreseeable future. He's certainly enjoyed his time in Seattle thus far, posting a 2.83 ERA and a 29.1 percent strikeout rate in his first nine starts as a Mariner.

Springs allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out six across five innings Friday against the Blue Jays. He did not factor into the decision.

Springs held Toronto scoreless through four innings, but he allowed a pair of doubles and singles in the fifth inning to account for all of the runs against him. He managed 11 swinging strikes on only 83 total pitches and now has at least six strikeouts in five of his last seven starts. Springs has an impressive 2.56 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and a 136:30 K:BB across 126.1 frames on the campaign.

Seabold is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Orioles at Fenway Park.

Boston isn't expected to return rehabbing starter Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list until at least Thursday, so Seabold will be in store for a second straight turn through the rotation. After getting called up from Triple-A Worcester last week to serve as Boston's No. 5 starter, Seabold dropped to 0-3 after giving up four earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four across five innings.

The Rays list McClanahan (neck) as their probable starter for Sunday's home game against the Blue Jays.

Unless he experiences a setback with his neck while warming up Sunday, McClanahan doesn't look as though he'll have to miss a turn through the rotation after he battled the minor injury in his last start Tuesday against the Astros. The All-Star lefty has taken a step back in performance in the second half, but his 3.94 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 43:16 K:BB in 45.2 innings since the break still make him a valuable fantasy option who needs to be rostered in every format.

Olson was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Erie on Saturday for an undisclosed reason, Emily Waldon of Baseball America reports.

Olson struggled at Erie over the last few months, posting a 4.99 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 61.1 innings over his last 13 appearances. The nature of his injury hasn't yet been revealed, and it's unclear when he'll be back to full health.
