Gibson (3-0) earned the win Monday, allowing one run on five hits and three walks over 6.1 innings against the Athletics. He struck out four.

Gibson settled down and worked into the seventh inning after giving up the first run of the contest on an RBI triple to right field in the first. He's worked deep in back-to-back outings, as he fired seven strong innings Tuesday against the Rangers. Gibson owns a 3.44 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with a 12:4 K:BB through his first three starts of 2023 (18.1 frames).

Sears (0-1) took the loss Monday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over five innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Sears struggled to find the strike zone and threw only 55 of his 90 pitches for strikes. He gave up a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning and a solo shot in the third before exiting with a 3-1 deficit. Sears has surrendered six runs on 11 hits while fanning nine and issuing two walks over his first 9.2 innings of the 2023 campaign.

Bieber (1-0) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings against the Yankees. He struck out four.

The Yankees got to Bieber for two runs in the first inning on an RBI double, but he managed to settle down and finish his outing with six scoreless frames. He didn't have his usual swing-and-miss stuff and was a bit wild at times, firing 56 of 99 pitches for strikes. Even so, he did enough to bring home his first victory of the 2023 campaign.

German did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on two hits and five walks over three innings against Cleveland. He struck out zero.

German's outing didn't last long after he racked up 87 pitches in just three innings of work. The right-hander got knocked around in the second and fourth frames, surrendering a run in each innings. German threw only 49 of his 87 pitches for strikes and walked five after failing to issue a walk in his first start of the season.

Maeda (0-2) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on eight hits and zero walks over six innings in a 4-3 loss against the White Sox. He struck out three.

Maeda surrendered all four runs in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI single and a three-run shot over the wall in left center. He looked strong previously in his first start of the season (one run allowed on three hits and no walks while fanning nine) but wasn't nearly as sharp Monday afternoon. Maeda tentatively lines up to take the mound this weekend against the Yankees.

Cease (2-0) earned the win Monday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks over five innings in a 4-3 victory over the Twins. He struck out six.

Cease clearly didn't have his best stuff on the bump Monday afternoon, but his team handed him four runs of support and it was just enough to bring home the win. The right-hander fired 62 of 98 pitches for strikes and has now fanned 23 batters in his first 16.1 innings of action to kick off the 2023 campaign.

Lynch (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday in Arizona, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Lynch was placed on the 15-day injured list March 30 due to a strained rotator cuff, but he's seemingly trending in the right direction. It's unclear whether this is his first bullpen since suffering the injury, but the next steps in his rehab should become more clear following Tuesday's session.

Severino (lat) had a successful 22-pitch bullpen session Monday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Severino was able to throw all of his pitches and is currently pain-free as he works his way back from a low-grade lat strain. He expects to throw another bullpen session within the next few days before potentially advancing to facing hitters over the weekend or early next week.

Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Monday that Bradish (foot) will make a rehab start with a minor-league affiliate within the next few days, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Bradish threw a 44-pitch bullpen session Saturday without issue and will test out his bruised right foot in a game setting soon. All signs point to him rejoining the Orioles' rotation when first eligible April 19 or shortly after.

The Guardians recalled Battenfield from Triple-A Columbus on Monday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Battenfield was up in the majors briefly last season but didn't make an appearance, so it will be his big-league debut when he gets into a game. The 25-year-old allowed three runs -- two earned -- over five innings in his first start with Columbus in 2023 after posting a 3.63 ERA there across 28 starts in 2022. He could draw some starts while Aaron Civale (oblique) is out or serve in long relief.
