Manning fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays. He allowed four runs over six innings on six hits with one walk and three strikeouts before exiting.

Manning was hit in the foot with a comebacker and was seen wearing a boot in the clubhouse after the game. The right-hander is heading to the injured list, and a timeline for when he'll be able to rejoin the Detroit rotation -- and who will replace him in the starting group -- should be provided in the coming days.

Javier did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing four runs on five hits and one walk over six innings against the Pirates. He struck out three.

Javier gave up a pair of homers in the no-decision; a two-run blast to Jack Suwinski in the second and a solo blast to Ji-Man Choi. He also gave up a run on a sac fly in his final frame, and he needed to be bailed out late to not pick up the loss. Javier was impressive against the Tigers on Wednesday with six inning of one-run ball, but he was disappointing in this effort. His next chance to rebound is scheduled for Monday against the Blue Jays.

Gaddis (0-1) took the loss Tuesday, allowing eight runs on eight hits and two walks over three innings against the Yankees. He struck out three.

Gaddis has pitched poorly in two of his three starts to begin the year, with the one exception being the six shutout innings he fired against the rebuilding Athletics last Wednesday. The right-hander was staked a 2-0 lead, but he gave up a run in the second and five more in the third with three of them coming on a blast by Franchy Cordero. He'd allow two more in the fourth without getting an out to see his ERA balloon to 8.53 on the season. Gaddis is lined up to face the Tigers early next week.

Cole improved to 3-0 after striking out three and allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings in Tuesday's 11-2 win over the Guardians.

Cole didn't make many bats miss Tuesday, but he was effective nevertheless against the Cleveland lineup. He was particularly good after the first inning, as he allowed a pair in that frame before keeping the Guardians off the scoreboard through the next six innings to get his third win in as many starts. Cole now has a 1.40 ERA and 22:7 K:BB over 19.1 innings to begin the campaign.

Mariners manager Scott Servais told reporters before Tuesday's game against the Cubs that Ray (elbow) hasn't started throwing yet but is feeling better, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Ray is still waiting for clearance to throw after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain after his first start of the season on April 1. The left-hander is expected to miss at least a month, but there's no clear timeline for the 2021 Cy Young winner.

Rodon (forearm/back) threw off flat ground Tuesday and is slated for a bullpen session Wednesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Rodon's rehab was delayed a bit due to some back stiffness, but it appears he's over that minor setback. Yankees manager Aaron Boone also said the forearm strain which initially sent Rodon to the injured list is a non-issue now. If Wednesday's bullpen session goes well, Rodon will throw live batting practice Friday. Despite the positive developments, Boone indicated that the lefty returning before the end of April is unlikely.

Miller was promoted from Double-A Midland to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Oakland's top pitching prospect, Miller struck out eight batters in 3.2 innings in his first Double-A start of the season and was subsequently promoted to the Pacific Coast League. He made two starts at Triple-A late last season and will look to put the finishing touches on his minor-league development in the coming months while navigating the harsh PCL pitching conditions.

Glasnow (oblique) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

It's the first time he's thrown off a mound since he suffered a Grade 2 strain of his left oblique back in late February. That was six weeks ago, so it doesn't seem like Glasnow is going to make it back within the initially projected 6-to-8 week timetable. The talented right-hander is seemingly doing well in his recovery, though, and just needs to rebuild stamina.

Severino (lat) will throw another bullpen session Thursday, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

He was cleared for more mound work after recovering from Monday's bullpen session with no issues. If Thursday's session goes off without a hitch, Severino could face hitters after that. The right-hander will need at least one rehab start before being activated, and it's not yet clear when that turn might unfold.

The Rays plan to recall Bradley from Triple-A Durham to have him start Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He'll be entering the rotation in place of Zach Eflin (back), who was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday. Bradley, 22, is one of the better pitching prospects in baseball, having posted a 2.57 ERA and 141:33 K:BB over 133.1 innings between Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham in 2022. He's allowed four runs with eight strikeouts across seven frames in his first two starts with Durham in 2023. Bradley hasn't thrown more than 55 pitches in eight of those two outings, so he could be in store for a relatively short start Wednesday. He could get another start next week, too.
