Lynn (0-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks over 6.1 innings against the Rays. He struck out 10.

The right-hander was working on a no-hitter through six innings. Then the seventh inning started with a Wander Franco home run and ended with 10 Tampa Bay runs coming across the plate, with Lynn exiting after five batters and being tagged for four runs. The 35-year-old has had a disastrous start to 2023 with a 7.16 ERA through six starts, and he's given up at least four runs in each of his past three outings.

Eovaldi (3-2) earned the win Saturday, allowing just three hits and no walks in a complete game shutout against the Yankees. He struck out eight.

Eovaldi was handed a two-run lead in the fifth inning and made it stand with one of the best starts of his career. He delivered a 113-pitch masterpiece, which included retiring the final 15 batters he faced. The 33-year-old hadn't pitched past the sixth inning this season before Saturday, but he dominated a Yankees lineup without Aaron Judge. Eovaldi now has a 3.93 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 39:5 K:BB over 36.2 innings this season.

Brito (2-3) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over five innings against Texas. He struck out five.

After three consecutive starts without reaching five innings, Brito delivered a solid outing Saturday, despite the loss. The five strikeouts were the most the rookie has recorded since his first start of the season. Brito has a 5.56 ERA across 22.2 innings this year, but that number is a bit inflated since half of the runs he has allowed came in one start against the Twins on April 13.

Glasnow (oblique) threw a two-inning live bullpen session in Tampa Bay on Saturday, and could make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Durham within the next week, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Rays manager Kevin Cash called the two innings (encouraging) after getting a report from pitching coach Rick Knapp. Glasnow is trending toward being ready to return in mid-May, just keep in mind that the right-hander has to build up his arm strength as he's been out with his oblique injury since the middle of the Grapefruit League in Florida.

Texas placed deGrom on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right elbow inflammation.

The Rangers are recalling Yerry Rodriguez from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding transaction. This comes after deGrom left Friday's start against the Yankees after dealing with tightness in his right forearm, and unsurprisingly the result is another stint on the injured list for the right-hander. The good news is there doesn't appear to be structural damage for deGrom, so he could be back in the rotation in the middle of May if everything goes well.

Flexen won't make his scheduled start Saturday in Toronto and will instead be available out of the bullpen, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Seattle recalled Easton McGee from Triple-A to make Saturday's start, and given how Flexen has pitched lately, he appears to have lost his rotation spot. Flexen has given up 18 earned runs in 12.1 innings over his last three appearances.

McGee was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma and will start for the Mariners on Saturday in Toronto.

Chris Flexen had been listed as the probable starter for Seattle, but McGee will instead get the call against a dangerous Blue Jays lineup. The 25-year-old right-hander was sporting a 3.14 ERA and 24:9 K:BB through 28.2 innings (five starts) this season at the Triple-A level. He's an iffy fantasy bet in the afternoon matchup at Rogers Centre, but there could be more favorable assignments ahead if he sticks around in Flexen's rotation spot.

Bassitt (back) is listed as the Blue Jays' probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game versus the Mariners.

The Blue Jays never seemed to have much concern that Bassitt would miss a turn through the rotation after he experienced right lower-back tightness in his most recent start Monday against the White Sox, and his inclusion on the team's weekend pitching schedule confirms that he's feeling fine following his between-starts bullpen session. Through his first five starts of 2023, Bassitt owns a 3-2 record, 4.82 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 28 innings.

Ryan is no longer scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Royals, as Sonny Gray is now in line to start the final contest of the Twins' homestand.

After both Gray and Ryan started on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, versus the Yankees, the right-handers both appeared on track to make two starts during the Twins' seven-game week. However, with Kenta Maeda suffering a triceps strain in his start Thursday and landing on the injured list a day later, the Twins called up Bailey Ober from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move and will quickly plug him into the rotation Saturday rather than waiting to use him the next time Maeda's turn came up. As a result, all the Twins' other four starters have been pushed back a day, resulting in only Gray getting a two-start week. Ryan should still line up for a two-step next week, as he's expected to face the White Sox on the road on Tuesday before starting the series finale in Cleveland next Sunday.

Manning (foot) was transferred Saturday from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Andy Ibanez will take over the vacant 40-man roster spot. Manning suffered a fracture in his right foot earlier this month and can now be ruled out until at least mid-June.
