Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Friday that Rodon (back) will have a cortisone injection as soon as possible, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Boone told reporters that the medical consensus is that it will help him get back on the mound more quickly. Rodon has recovered from the forearm issue that kept him out at the beginning of the season, but the back trouble he picked up during his rehab has stagnated his progress. It seems likely that the left-hander's return will be closer to the end of May than the middle of it.

Crawford's left hamstring strain which forced him to the injured list is considered mild, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Crawford tweaked his hamstring during an appearance Wednesday versus the Blue Jays. It sounds like he could have avoided the IL, but this allows him to take his time and for the Red Sox to add a fresh bullpen arm.

Crawford was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday due to a left hamstring strain, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Crawford was initially considered day-to-day after leaving Wednesday's game against Toronto with hamstring tightness, but his injury now seems to be more severe than previously thought. Kaleb Ort will be recalled from Triple-A Worcester to replace Crawford in Boston's bullpen.

Miller is listed as the Mariners' starting pitcher for Sunday's game against the Astros at T-Mobile Park.

Unsurprisingly, Miller will remain in the rotation after he delivered a gem in his MLB debut Tuesday, striking out 10 while allowing one run and only two baserunners across six innings in a no-decision against Oakland. The young right-hander will draw a more formidable opponent this weekend, but the promise he displayed in his debut should make Miller a decent fantasy option. He has a path to a full-time role with Robbie Ray (elbow) having been shut down for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Dunning will start Friday's road game against the Angels, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The right-hander has been excellent in long relief this season, holding a 1.77 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB over 20.1 innings. With Jacob deGrom (elbow) out at least a couple weeks, Dunning will likely get multiple turns through the rotation.

France will make his major-league debut Saturday against the Mariners, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

It was reported earlier Friday that France was being promoted and now we know for sure that he's joining an Astros rotation which has been hit hard by injuries. France boasts a 2.33 ERA and 26:11 K:BB over 19.1 innings covering five appearances, including three starts, for Triple-A Sugar Land in 2023.

Glasnow (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Glasnow is slated for three innings in the first of what's expected to be two or three rehab outings. The big right-hander has been working his way back from a strained oblique which he suffered in late February. Glasnow made two regular-season and one postseason start late last season after making it back from Tommy John surgery.

Chirinos will make his first start of the season Friday against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Chirinos has been excellent while working as a multi-inning reliever thus far, holding a 0.64 ERA and 8:2 K:BB over 14 frames. He'll be pitching on five days' rest Friday after tossing 4.2 frames of one-run ball and picking up a win last weekend versus the White Sox. Chirinos threw 66 pitches in that outing, so he should theoretically be able to get his pitch count up to around 80 versus the Yankees.

France was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land by the Astros on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The 28-year-old is off to a great start with Sugar Land this season, posting a 2.33 ERA and 26:11 K:BB over 19.1 innings covering five appearances including three starts. It's not clear at this point whether he will join the Astros' rotation, but it would make sense with Luis Garcia (elbow) and Jose Urquidy (shoulder) sidelined. France will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

Drohan allowed one hit and two walks while striking out four over six scoreless innings to earn his fifth win in five starts for Double-A Portland on Thursday.

Drohan picked up where he left off in April, for which he was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Month, per Christopher Smith of MassLive.com. The lefty, drafted in fifth round in 2020 out of Florida State University, is an under-the-radar prospect that started to blip on the radar in 2022. Drohan mostly lives in the 92-to-95 mph range with his fastball and augments it with a curve and changeup. Most notably in 2023, the 24-year-old former Seminole is cutting down on walks, lowering his rate to 1.9 BB/9 from 3.96 last season. The free pass has been an issue for Drohan since his college days (8.43 BB/9).
