Greinke (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Greinke needed just a minimum stay on the IL while recovering from right shoulder tendinitis. The veteran hurler will rejoin the Royals rotation Thursday with a home matchup against the Tigers. He'll bring a 5.44 ERA into the outing.

Toussaint (0-3) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up five runs on four hits and four walks over six innings as the White Sox were downed 5-1 by the Mets. He struck out three.

The right-hander was able to give Chicago some length, hanging around for 107 pitches in his longest outing of the season, but he threw only 57 strikes. Toussaint has a 4.41 ERA and 12:9 K:BB in 16.1 innings while making three straight starts for the White Sox, but with Mike Clevinger (biceps) still working his way up to a rehab assignment, he'll likely continue to plug a hole in the rotation at least through the end of July.

Berrios (8-7) took the loss Wednesday as the Blue Jays fell 2-0 to the Padres, giving up two runs on four hits and four walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

The right-hander delivered his 11th quality start of the season on 106 pitches while generating an impressive 34 called or swinging strikes, but the Toronto offense couldn't solve Yu Darvish and the San Diego bullpen. Berrios' nine strikeouts tied his season high, and since the beginning of June he's posted a 2.83 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB over 54 innings. He'll try to get back in the win column in his next outing, set for early next week on the road against the Dodgers.

Kremer did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks over 4.2 innings against the Dodgers. He struck out one.

Kremer got himself into trouble early, issuing a walk to Freddie Freeman in the top of the first before surrendering back-to-back hits with two outs, which would lead to two runs coming across for the Dodgers. He appeared to be settling in after that as the right-hander went 1-2-3 over the next two innings. However, he would be victimized by the long ball in both the fourth and fifth innings as Los Angeles tried to claw its way back. Kremer had allowed only one run in each of his last two starts coming in but has now given up at five-plus runs in two of his last four outings. His four walks were also the most he's issued in a start this season.

Civale did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over 5.1 innings against the Pirates. He struck out three.

Civale allowed only one batter to reach base over the first four innings before surrendering back-to-back singles to open the bottom of the fifth. He would go on to give up two runs in the sixth before being relieved by Nick Sandlin with one out in the frame. The right-hander has not allowed more than two runs in any start this month, where he holds a sparkling 1.93 ERA to go along with a 16:3 K:BB. On the downside, he has now failed to make it through six innings in each of his last two starts after previously doing so in four straight.

Rodon (0-3) took the loss against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing six runs on four hits and five walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings.

Rodon followed an unsuccessful pattern in each of the first two innings: issuing a free pass and giving up a home run to the next batter. He then walked the first two hitters he faced in the third, both of whom came around to score. Altogether, the left-hander issued five free passes, one short of a career high. Rodon has lost all three of his starts since coming off the injured list July 7, though this was easily his worst outing so far. He's yet to find his footing as a Yankee, posting a 7.36 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB while serving up four homers over 14.2 innings.

Urquidy (shoulder) is expected to return to the Astros' rotation in early August, MLB.com reports.

Urquidy made his second rehab start with Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday, and he worked three innings while throwing 45 pitches. He'll now head to Double-A Corpus Christi, with his next outing slated for four innings. Urquidy's final rehab outing will come July 30, with the goal of completing five frames. That would put him in line to return to the big-league rotation at some point during Houston's weekend series against the Yankees from Aug. 3-6.

Castillo allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 11 over six innings in a no-decision during Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Twins.

Castillo's 11 strikeouts were a season high, and he earned his third quality start in his last five outings. He also gave up multiple home runs for the sixth time in eight starts, as Edouard Julien and Max Kepler tagged Castillo for solo shots in the fifth inning. The veteran right-hander is at a 3.04 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 133:30 K:BB through 118.1 innings over 20 starts. He's projected for a rematch with the Twins in Minnesota next week.

Maeda allowed two runs on three hits and struck out nine over 6.1 innings while taking a no-decision in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.

Maeda allowed just one hit, erased by a double play, over his first five innings. Tom Murphy got to him with a solo home run in the sixth inning, and Maeda was charged with another run in the seventh. This was still one of his best outings of the season, and just his second quality start in nine appearances. Maeda owns a 5.10 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 50:12 K:BB through 42.1 innings overall. He's projected for a rematch with the Mariners at home next week.

Rodriguez (6-5) allowed two runs on four hits across seven innings to earn the win in Wednesday's 3-2 victory over the Royals. He had no walks and struck out seven.

Rodriguez was sharp as he earned his second straight win, and the lefty had his longest outing since going seven innings back on May 10. He missed some time with a finger injury and had allowed seven runs over nine innings since returning from the injured list earlier this month, but he appeared to get back on track Wednesday. Rodriguez will take a strong 2.69 ERA into his next start, which is tentatively set for Monday against the Giants.
