Rodon (hamstring) will continue to throw on flat ground in hopes that he will need only a minimum 15-day stay on the injured list, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Rodon is dealing with a low-grade left hamstring strain and wanted to pitch through the injury, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone. However, the team decided to exercise caution and go ahead and IL him. Rodon has struggled mightily this season, posting a 7.33 ERA with 25:18 K:BB in 27 innings since coming back from forearm and back injuries.

Glasnow (back) will visit with team specialist Dr. Tom Tolli on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Glasnow had to be scratched from his scheduled start Sunday against the Tigers due to back spasms, and while the Rays aren't concerned about it being a long-term issue, more will be known following Tuesday's exam. The hope is that the big right-hander will be ready to take the ball as soon as this week versus the Cardinals.

McClanahan (forearm) visited with specialist Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

This was after he had an MRI and was examined by team orthopedist Dr. Koco Eaton last Thursday. McClanahan will be seen by another specialist, Dr. Keith Meister, next week as he and the Rays try to gain clarity on the pitcher's left forearm injury. Presumably, an update on McClanahan's long-term prognosis will be available following next week's exam. The southpaw has posted a 6.65 ERA in his last five starts, dealing with a back issue and now a forearm problem over that span.

Cole (10-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Monday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three batters over seven innings.

Cole didn't have his swing-and-miss stuff going Monday, but he nonetheless entered the eighth frame having given up just two runs. The All-Star hurler couldn't get an out in that inning, however, as he gave up consecutive singles to Gavin Sheets and Elvis Andrus before being pulled. Both batters came around to score after Cole's departure, saddling the veteran with his first outing of at least four earned runs since he gave up five to the Padres on May 28. Cole still holds an excellent 2.75 ERA and 1.04 WHIP on the campaign, and he remains a strong AL Cy Young Award candidate.

Cease (5-5) tossed 5.1 scoreless innings in a win over the Yankees on Monday, allowing one hit and seven walks while striking out six batters.

It's not often that a hurler issues seven walks and keeps the opponent scoreless -- in fact, Cease is the first White Sox pitcher to do it since Dan Wright in 2001, per Christopher Kamka of NBC Sports Chicago. Cease's success was centered on holding New York to just one hit, which didn't come until there were two outs in the top of the sixth inning. That DJ LeMahieu single resulted in the veteran hurler getting the hook after 104 pitches (only 58 of which were strikes), but Brett Honeywell managed to work out of a bases-loaded jam to keep Cease's scoreless outing intact. It's unlikely that Cease will pair this level of wildness with success often, but his final stat line was much more palatable than the seven-run, 1.2 inning shelling he took against Texas his last time out.

Williams pitched seven scoreless innings in a no-decision against Toronto on Monday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out 12 batters.

The rookie looked every bit like a future ace in a masterful performance that included a career-best 12 punchouts. Williams allowed just one base knock -- a first-inning Vladimir Guerrero Jr. double -- and retired the final nine batters he faced. Remarkably, this was the second seven-inning, one-hit, scoreless performance in Williams' first nine MLB outings (the other came in his second career start). Perhaps just as remarkably, he's had to settle for a no-decision in each instance, as Cleveland's offense has tallied a grand total of three runs over those two starts. Williams has just one win to his ledger thus far, but he's holding his own in the big leagues with a 2.90 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 49:22 K:BB through 49.2 innings.

Sandoval allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out eight over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Monday.

Sandoval earned a quality start, but he lost his chance at the win when he allowed a game-tying home run to J.D. Davis in the seventh inning. Over his last five outings, Sandoval has given up just nine runs (six earned) across 29 innings. He's now at a 4.02 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 92:46 K:BB through 109.2 innings through 20 starts this season. The southpaw is lined up for a tough road start in Texas next week.

Dunning allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision Monday in the Rangers' 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Dunning notched his third quality start in five outings since the All-Star break, though it was a fairly pedestrian effort. He threw 55 of 94 pitches for strikes and walked multiple batters for the third time in that span. The right-hander is now at a 3.21 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 85:34 K:BB through 120.2 innings over 25 appearances (17 starts) this season. Dunning is projected for a road start in San Francisco over the weekend.

Waldichuk allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out seven over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Monday.

Waldichuk completed six innings for the second time this year, and he earned his second quality start. The southpaw contained the damage to a two-run double from Mitch Garver in the fourth inning. Waldichuk has given up 11 runs (10 earned) over 18.2 innings across his last four outings and has a 6.30 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 96:55 K:BB through 94.1 innings overall. His next appearance is likely to be on the road versus the Nationals this weekend.

Lopez (7-6) earned the win Monday, allowing five hits without walking a batter over seven scoreless innings in a 9-3 win over the Tigers. He struck out eight.

Lopez scattered five singles and didn't allow any baserunners to reach third base. The Minnesota bats did the rest, scoring nine to help Lopez earn his seventh win of the season. This marks the 27-year-old righty's third consecutive quality start, during which he has allowed just three runs on 15 hits with a 21:1 K:BB ratio across 20 innings over that stretch. He's currently expected to make his next start in Philadelphia this weekend.
