Victor Vodnik RP | COL
Rockies' Victor Vodnik: Locks down 10th save
Vodnik earned the save Sunday against the Angels, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
The right-hander issued a leadoff walk to Jo Adell but quickly erased it with a double play before ultimately closing the door to secure his 10th save of the season. Vodnik has been outstanding of late, giving up just one run over his last 15 appearances while converting eight saves in that span. The 25-year-old now owns a 2.92 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 47:24 K:BB across 49.1 innings on the year.

George Soriano RP | MIA
Marlins' George Soriano: Grabs first save
Soriano earned the save Sunday against the Rangers, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning in Miami's 4-2 victory.
Soriano entered with a two-run cushion, sat down Kyle Higashioka on strikes, and needed just eight pitches to retire the side in order and record his first save of the season. The appearance was a needed step in the right direction for the right-hander, who had surrendered 14 runs across his last 13.1 innings. Despite Sunday's success, the 26-year-old still carries an 8.31 ERA and 1.73 WHIP across 53.1 innings on the season.

Orion Kerkering RP | PHI
Phillies' Orion Kerkering: Beginning to struggle
Kerkering allowed one run on three hits in one inning Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
Kerkering has now yielded one run in three consecutive outings, and he's watched his ERA for the year climb from 2.81 on Aug. 19 to 3.28 following Sunday's showing. With Jose Alvarado (forearm) now out of the picture, Kerkering still remains very likely to make Philadelphia's playoff roster despite his recent struggles. Through 57.2 innings in 2025, Kerkering has a 3.28 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 61:26 K:BB.

Jordan Romano RP | PHI
Phillies' Jordan Romano: Remains shut down from throwing
Romano (finger/neck) hasn't resumed throwing, per MLB.com.
Romano was working his way back from right middle finger inflammation before reporting neck stiffness and numbness in his finger last weekend, and his throwing program appears to have reached a standstill. The right-hander is very unlikely to rejoin Philadelphia's bullpen before the end of the regular season at this point, although the door is theoretically open for him to return during the postseason.

Braves' Daysbel Hernandez: Shifts to 60-day IL
Atlanta transferred Hernandez (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

Reds' Tony Santillan: Collects seventh save
Santillan earned the save in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Cubs, allowing two walks and zero hits while striking out two batters in one scoreless inning.
With Emilio Pagan being dispatched in each of the last two games, Santillan was brought out for the ninth inning to preserve the Reds' shutout bid. It wasn't an easy outing, as Santillan issued two walks while tossing 23 pitches (12 strikes), but he finished things off by striking out two of the last three batters he faced. He has yielded just one earned run across his last 17 outings and has a 1.35 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 26.2 innings since the All-Star break.

Cantillo has given up fewer than two runs in six consecutive outings; during that span, he's produced an impressive 1.32 ERA across 34 frames. However, he's also walked 12 batters during that time and has issued 28 free passes in his last 12 starts. Cantillo owns a 3.21 ERA with a 100:42 K:BB through 89.2 innings this season. He's expected to make his final start of the regular season next weekend at home against the Rangers.

Hoffman got the call to protect the Blue Jays' three-run lead in the ninth. He yielded a double to Mike Yastrzemski, but Hoffman closed things out by getting Bobby Witt and Vinnie Pasquantino to both ground out, and the win clinched the Blue Jays a spot in the postseason. Hoffman has had his struggles this season but has not given up a run in each of his last four outings.
