Megill earned the save Tuesday against the Pirates, allowing a solo home run and no walks with two strikeouts across one inning.

Megill entered the contest with two runs of cushion and managed to secure his fifth save of the campaign despite allowing a solo homer to Connor Joe with two outs in the ninth. The 30-year-old is a perfect 5-for-5 in save chances and has only allowed two runs in 10.2 innings this season.

Helsley allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Helsley has a win and six saves during his nine-inning scoreless streak, a span that's seen him allowed six hits and one walk while striking out 11. The right-hander is 13-for-14 in save chances this season with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 20 innings. Helsley seems to be benefiting from being the standalone closer as opposed to part of a committee. His career high in saves is 19 in 2022, a mark he should be able to shatter as long as he doesn't add to his lengthy injury history.

McArthur allowed a run on two hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

McArthur gave up a solo home run to Mitch Haniger in the ninth inning, but he was able to avoid any further damage. The right-hander has surrendered seven runs (six earned) over his last five appearances, and he's been tagged for four homers in that span. He's managed to convert saves in each of his last two outings despite the long balls. McArthur is 10-for-13 in save chances this year while adding a 4.58 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through 19.2 innings. He does not appear to be in danger of losing the closer job yet, but it is concerning to see him give up so much hard contact.

Hader (2-3) allowed a walk and struck out three over two scoreless and hitless innings to earn the extra-inning win over the Athletics on Tuesday.

After starter Ronel Blanco was ejected for the alleged use of a foreign substance, this became a bit of a bullpen game for the Astros as they looked to protect a 1-0 lead. Ryan Pressly couldn't maintain the lead in the eighth inning, but Hader pitched well in the ninth and 10th, and he got the win after Victor Caratini delivered a walk-off hit as a pinch hitter. Hader's active 4.1-inning scoreless streak is his longest of the season. He's now at a 4.74 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB with five saves in six chances over 19 innings this season.

The White Sox returned Anderson to Triple-A Charlotte after Tuesday's doubleheader against Washington.

Anderson pitched a scoreless inning during the first game of the twin bill, giving up one walk while punching out two batters. He owns a 2.81 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 16 frames in Triple-A, and he could return to the majors later this year if Chicago's bullpen depth is tested further.

Hendriks (elbow) extended his throwing program out to 120 feet Monday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Hendriks also threw pitches off flat ground. He believes he's on track for a return roughly at the trade deadline, which would be about the one-year anniversary of the reliever's Tommy John surgery.

Phillips (hamstring) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Phillips has been on the injured list with a strained right hamstring since May 5, and he resumed playing catch Friday. He will presumably throw multiple bullpen sessions before progressing to facing live hitters, though he shouldn't take long to build back up as a reliever.

The Rangers optioned White to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

The right-hander surrendered three runs over one inning Monday against Cleveland and has now been demoted to make room for Tuesday's starter Jack Leiter. White has surrendered six earned runs in his two MLB appearances this season and has a 5.70 ERA over 23.2 frames at Triple-A.

The Pirates recalled Ryan from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Ryan holds a 3.00 ERA and 1.08 WHIP through 12 innings across nine appearances with the Pirates this season, and he will now return to the majors to provide additional bullpen depth. He will replace Josh Fleming, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

The Pirates will call up Mlodzinksi from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Mlodzinski went 3-3 with a 2.25 ERA across 36 innings over 32 appearances at the big-league level in 2023. However, he's had a much rougher time at Triple-A Indianapolis this season, posting a 6.43 ERA across 14 innings.
