Small (oblique) is slated to throw out to 120 feet this week, MLB.com reports.

Assuming Small responds well to the long-toss throwing, he could be cleared to start throwing off a mound again as soon as next week. Small has spent the entire season on the Giants' 60-day injured list with a moderate right oblique strain. The 27-year-old lefty still has a minor-league option remaining and could be sent to Triple-A Sacramento once the Giants deem him ready to return from the IL.

Beck (arm) completed bullpen session Monday, MLB.com reports.

Beck was cleared to resume full baseball activities May 1, but the Giants have been having him proceed cautiously with his ramp-up program after he required surgery March 3 to address an upper right arm aneurysm. After weeks of steadily increasing his throwing distance off flat ground, Beck was finally cleared to advance to mound work. Given the pace of his rehab thus far, Beck wouldn't seem likely to make it back from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break.

Warren (elbow) is scheduled to make a one-inning rehab appearance for Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Tuesday's outing will be the fifth of Warren's rehab assignment, which began June 5 in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. He's thus far worked four innings over his first four appearances between the ACL and Single-A San Jose, striking out four while giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and no walks. The right-hander is working his way back from May 17, 2023 Tommy John surgery and will likely remain on his rehab assignment for at least this week before potentially returning from the 60-day injured list and joining the San Francisco bullpen.

The Astros recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday.

The right-hander was optioned to Sugar Land on Sunday but will quickly rejoin the Astros as Justin Verlander (neck) heads to the injured list. Hernandez has pitched well in his brief MLB action this season with one earned run allowed and five strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

The Red Sox reinstated Martin (personal) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Martin was placed on the IL in early June after informing Boston of his issues with anxiety, but he will rejoin the Red Sox' active roster just one day after becoming eligible. Martin tossed a scoreless inning at Triple-A Worcester as part of his rehab, and it's possible the hiatus will be what Martin needs to right the ship after falling to a 4.22 ERA in 21 appearances with Boston this season. Cooper Criswell was optioned to Worcester in a corresponding move.

The Yankees recalled Andrews from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Andrews and Anthony Misiewicz will reinforce the Yankees' bullpen after Cody Poteet (triceps) and Ian Hamilton (lat) were placed on the injured list. Andrews has struggled at Triple-A this season, as he owns a 5.84 ERA and a 28:22 K:BB across 24 appearances. He also surrendered a home run in his only MLB appearance of 2024.

Effross (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Tampa on Wednesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Effross hasn't pitched since 2022 due to Tommy John and back surgeries. He'll need time to knock the rust off but could be a weapon in the second half for the Yankees if he can regain his pre-surgery sharpness. Effross posted a 2.78 ERA and 80:16 K:BB over 71.1 innings from 2021-22 with the Cubs and Yankees.

The Yankees placed Hamilton on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right lat strain, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Hamilton will be shut down from throwing for 3-to-4 weeks and will need time to ramp back up after that, so it's going to be an extended absence. It's not clear how long Hamilton's lat had been bothering him, but he had been struggling lately in allowing eight runs (seven earned) over his last four appearances.

The Rangers optioned Winn to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Winn pitched in the past two games after being recalled by Texas on Sunday, and he'll return to the minors after he gave up four runs across three innings. He's made 13 appearances in the big leagues this year and has a 7.79 ERA across 17.1 innings.

The Rangers recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

The right-hander was optioned to Round Rock in late May but will rejoin the Rangers ahead of Tuesday's matchup with the Mets. Rodriguez has made 12 appearances for Texas this season and has a 6.88 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 12:11 K:BB over 17 innings.
