Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Report: Rex Sox SP Joe Kelly likely out for season
Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly (shoulder) will likely be shut down for the season, The Boston Globe's Pete Abraham reports.
He left Tuesday's start with right shoulder tightness/fatigue, so it makes sense that the Red Sox won't push their luck with him over the final two-to-three weeks of the season.
Kelly really shined down the stretch prior to the injury, so he could be a trendy option heading into 2016 if he can prove he is healthy in spring training.

Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly leaves Tuesday start with shoulder injury
Red Sox starter Joe Kelly left Tuesday's start with right shoulder tightness/fatigue, the Providence Journal's Tim Britton reports.
He started off the game in excellent form over the first two innings, but things unraveled in the third inning, as he gave up four runs (three earned) while recording just one out before exiting. With only a little more than two weeks remaining in the regular season it's quite possible that Kelly won't pitch again in 2015.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Report: A's SP Jesse Chavez done for season with fractured rib
Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez has a non-displaced rib fracture and his season is over, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports.
The 32-year-old righty predictably regressed this season, posting a 4.18 ERA compared to a 3.45 ERA in 2014. That said, his 3.86 FIP was almost identical to his 3.89 FIP from last season, so that is probably a good gauge of his true talent. He should compete for a spot at the back of Oakland's rotation next spring. Cody Martin will make the start Wednesday against the White Sox and could stick in Oakland's rotation down the stretch.

A's SP Jesse Chavez (ribs) scratched from Wednesday start
Athletics pitcher Jesse Chavez has been scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Chavez told reporters that he's dealing with rib soreness and has been having trouble breathing. An X-ray revealed no serious damage, and the team is considering sending him home to undergo an MRI. With only a few weeks remaining in the season, Chavez indicated that he may not pitch again in 2015. Oakland is yet to announce who will take the hill in Chavez's place Wednesday.

Daniel Norris RP | CLE
Tigers' Sanchez still has shoulder soreness; Norris to start Wed.
Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez is not ready to come off the disabled list just yet. Sanchez was hopeful to start Wednesday against the Twins, but he is still dealing with right shoulder soreness stemming from a rotator cuff injury that has kept him on the shelf since Aug. 20.
Instead, rookie left-hander Daniel Norris will be activated from the DL to make Wednesday's start. Norris, who is nursing an oblique strain, was placed on the DL at the same time as Sanchez.
Norris was acquired by the Tigers at the July 31 trade deadline in the deal that sent David Price to the Blue Jays. He has made four starts for Detroit, going 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA.

Rays' Brad Boxberger endures disaster ninth inning in loss Monday
Rays closer Brad Boxberger was unable to protect a 1-0 lead on Monday, as the Yankees rallied for four runs in the ninth inning to take the 4-1 win.
Boxberger (4-10, 3.81 ERA), allowed a single to lead off the ninth, but enduced a ground ball double play to the very next batter. But things fell apart quickly. He walked Brett Gardner, who promptly stole second base, and Alex Rodriguez brought him in with an RBI double to tie the game at one run apiece.
After an intentional walk to Brian McCann, Boxberger served up a three-run home run to Slade Heathcott, suffering his sixth blown save of the year.
Boxberger has now blown four of his last 11 save chances. Monday's outing marked the second time this year that he gave up at least four runs in a single appearance.

So far, so good for Athletics rookie Sean Nolin in his bid to maintain a spot in the rotation.

The lone run was tallied on a Mike Napoli homer in the second.

Angels SP Hector Santiago shuts down Astros in no-decision
Angels starter Hector Santiago rebounded from a miserable stretch last Sunday and continued trending in the right direction with another fine outing Saturday night against visiting Houston.
Santiago gave up just two runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings, but that was only good enough for a no-decision.
The lone runs he allowed were on solo blasts by Carlos Correa in the sixth and Hank Conger in the seventh.
Santiago has surrendered just two runs on six hits in 13 innings over his last two starts.

Matt Moore RP | BOS
Rays SP Matt Moore gets lit up with four homers in loss to Red Sox
Making his eighth start of the season, Rays left-hander Matt Moore got rocked in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday. Moore gave up eight runs (six earned) on nine hits over five rough innings, en route to the 10-4 final.
Moore (1-4, 8.42 ERA) gave up four home runs in the poor outing. He served up a three-run shot to David Ortiz in the very first inning. Then Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia went back-to-back in the third. Ortiz got to Moore again in the fifth inning--a solo shot for his 500th career blast.
Moore, who missed the first three months while recovering from Tommy John surgery, has given up six earned runs in two of his last three starts.
