Jake Diekman RP | ATL
Rangers' Jake Diekman: Lands on disabled list
The Rangers placed Diekman on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a cut on his left index finger, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Diekman cut his finger Wednesday before the All-Star break and will still need a few more days to recover, so the team decided to place him on the disabled list to open up a roster spot for fellow reliever Keone Kela. Diekman last pitched July 6, so he will be eligible to be activated as soon as next Thursday.

Carson Fulmer RP | PIT
White Sox's Carson Fulmer: Will be called up Friday
Fulmer will be called up Friday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Fulmer is the White Sox's top starting pitching prospect, but the report indicates he will join the big league bullpen, presumably as a means of limiting his innings. Expect the White Sox to let him get his feet wet in middle-to-long relief.

Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC
Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: To make Red Sox debut Wednesday
Pomeranz will make his Boston debut Wednesday against the Giants, Evan Drellich of The Boston Herald reports.
The recently acquired Pomeranz will square off with a familiar foe Wednesday when he faces his old division rival in the Giants. In three other starts against the Giants when he was a member of the Padres' rotation, Pomeranz endured some tough luck as he went 0-2 despite posting a 2.60 ERA over 17.1 innings.

Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC
Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Gets traded to Red Sox
Pomeranz was traded to the Red Sox on Thursday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Pomeranz was acquired by the Red Sox for players to be named, but it is believed that the Padres are receiving one of Boston's better prospects. The 27-year-old has been great with the Padres in 2016, compiling a 2.47 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 102 innings while striking out 115 batters. It remains to be seen when Pomeranz will make his first start with his new squad.

Scott Carroll RP | CHC
White Sox's Scott Carroll: Gets outrighted Thursday
Carroll was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Carroll will be removed from the 40-man roster, allowing the White Sox to add an additional arm in the rotation or bullpen. After a 2015 season where the right-hander produced a 3.44 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 36.2 innings for the White Sox, the 31-year-old has regressed in 2016, spending the majority of the season with Triple-A Charlotte and logging a 5.27 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over 56.1 frames.

Daniel Mengden RP | KC
Athletics' Daniel Mengden: Will make first start for the A's after All-Star break
Mengden will start Friday against Toronto after Rich Hill was scratched with a blister, reports Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Rich Hill was scheduled to lead off the rotation for the A's out of the break, but that honor will now go to Mengden. The rookie has a 4.54 ERA through his first six major league starts, but was pitching very well until allowing six earned runs in his most recent outing.

Aaron Loup RP | LAA
Blue Jays' Aaron Loup: Appears in less than 10 first-half games
Loup made nine appearances in relief during the first half of the season, posting a 6.75 ERA and 0.75 WHIP with seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
The left-handed specialist got a late start to his season, as he was not activated from the DL (elbow) until May 28. He pitched decently, but was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo in mid-June. Loup was recalled at the beginning of July and notched two flawless outings, one of which included his first hold of the year. The 28-year-old had amassed 22 holds and four saves combined in 2014 and '15 while appearing in 60-plus games both seasons, but Loup appears to be a non-factor in the team's plans for 2016.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Blue Jays' Jesse Chavez: Finishes fine first half as reliever
areChavez has posted a respectable 3.41 ERA and 1.19 WHIP while striking out 35 over 34.1 innings during the first half of 2016.
A year removed from starting 26 games in Oakland, Chavez has smoothly adjusted to his role in Toronto's bullpen. His ERA and WHIP are both career bests. In addition, the right-hander is issuing fewer walks than ever before while pumping his average fastball (93.4 mph) at its highest speed since 2010. With that said, he's been on the brighter side of luck so far, with an 80-percent strand rate (career 71 percent) and a .288 BABIP (career .317) that are both the best he's had in any of his nine MLB campaigns. Furthermore, Chavez stumbled to the first-half finish line, so beware that he's a prime candidate for a second-half regression.

Craig Kimbrel RP | KC
Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Will miss 3-6 weeks following surgery Monday
Kimbrel (knee) underwent successful left knee arthroscopy and partial medial meniscectomy Monday and will be out 3-6 weeks, Evan Drellich of the Boston Herald reports.
Kimbrel's surgery went according to plan. He will now begin the rehab and recovery phase in an attempt to get back to full strength. The 28-year-old has a career high 3.55 ERA through 34 games for the Red Sox but has still converted on 17 of his 19 save opportunities.

Luis Ortiz RP | NYM
Rangers' Luis Ortiz: Holding his own at Double-A
Ortiz, 20, has a 3.74 ERA and 28:7 K:BB through 33.2 innings since being promoted to Double-A.
Ortiz has shown superb control, though he has been slightly more hittable at this level than he was at High-A. Opposing batters are hitting .288 against him at Double-A compared to .221 through 27.2 innings at High-A to begin the season. Nevertheless, he will not turn 21 years of age until after the season, so his future remains bright.
