Matt Barnes RP | WAS
Red Sox's Matt Barnes: Sets up Kimbrel on Friday
Barnes pitched a scoreless eighth inning as the bridge to closer Craig Kimbrel in Friday's 3-0 win over Seattle.
Barnes has served as the eighth-inning bridge to Kimbrel the last two games. Manager John Farrell's confidence in Barnes wavered a bit when the right-hander had a rough stretch through late April and early May, but he's been dominant the past two weeks. Since May 14, Barnes has pitched 6.1 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

Jose Leclerc RP | SD
Rangers' Jose Leclerc: Set for rehab appearance Sunday
Leclerc (finger) is scheduled to make a rehab appearance with Double-A Frisco on Sunday, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
After checking out fine during his bullpen session Friday, Leclerc will head out on what's expected to be a two-outing rehab stint with Frisco, with his second appearance set for next Tuesday. The bullpen had already been a weakness prior to Leclerc hitting the disabled list and hasn't shown much improvement since he suffered the injury, so it's expected that the right-hander will settle back into a prominent setup role upon his activation.

Jesse Chavez RP | ATL
Angels' Jesse Chavez: Hit hard in loss Friday
Chavez (4-6) allowed five earned runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in a loss to the Marlins on Friday. He struck out two.
Chavez was victimized by the long ball in this contest, giving up home runs to Giancarlo Stanton and J.T. Realmuto. It was a short outing for the veteran, who saw his ERA rise to 5.09 on the season to go along with a 1.32 WHIP. Given the amount of home runs he's given up on the season (2.0 HR/9), it's hard to recommend him as a consistent fantasy option. He'll take the mound Wednesday at home against Atlanta.

Alex Colome RP | CHW
Rays' Alex Colome: Notches 13th save Friday
Colome gave up a hit and struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings Friday to pick up his 13th save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Twins.
He's now converted all eight of his save chances in May, posting a 0.87 ERA, 0.39 WHIP and 11:1 K:BB in 10.1 innings during the month. Friday's save was also the 50th of Colome's career, all of which have come in the last two seasons. The 28-year-old might yet end up getting dealt at the trade deadline, but as long as he's in a closer role he should continue posting elite numbers.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Astros' Ken Giles: Picks up 14th save Friday
Giles struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to notch his 14th save of the season in a 2-0 win over the Orioles.
The right-hander is locked in right now, posting a 1.08 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB over his last 8.1 innings while converting seven straight save opportunities. With the Astros riding high and sporting the best record in the American League, Giles should continue seeing plenty of ninth-inning duty.

Daniel Mengden RP | KC
Athletics' Daniel Mengden: Thriving with Triple-A Nashville
Mengden is 2-1 with a 2.21 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and .189 BAA over four starts with Triple-A Nashville.
The 24-year-old right-hander has been particularly effective in his last two starts, allowing just one earned run on seven hits over 13 innings while also compiling 12 strikeouts. Mengden is projected to remain with the Sounds for the moment, although if Jesse Hahn (triceps) and Kendall Graveman (shoulder) both land on the disabled list as expected, he could be in line for a call-up.
-
Hector Santiago RP | SEA
Twins' Hector Santiago: Continues recent struggles with long ball
Santiago gave up three runs and a home run over 5.1 innings with six strikeouts and two walks to fall to 4-3 in Friday's loss to Tampa Bay.
After giving up nine runs and 15 hits over 7.2 innings in his last two starts, this outing was an improvement. Santiago has been plagued recently by the the long ball as he's given up five home runs in his last three starts, after allowing just three in his first seven starts.

Craig Kimbrel RP | KC
Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Notches 13th save on season
Kimbrel pitched a clean ninth inning Friday to earn the save in a 3-0 win over Seattle.
His ERA now stands at a microscopic 0.83 on the season, and he continues to mow batters down at a tremendous clip. He remains one of the elite closers in the game and is as reliable as they come when looking for saves in fantasy; he's now 13-for-14 in save chances on the campaign.
