  • Matt Andriese RP | MIA

Rays' Matt Andriese: Comes off disabled list

Andriese (hip) was activated from the disabled list Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Andriese is available from the bullpen Monday night, although he figures to rejoin the Rays' starting rotation in the near future. Before hitting the disabled list, Andriese had started 12 games for Tampa Bay, going 5-1 with a 3.54 ERA and 1.31 WHIP.

  • Brian Flynn RP | KC

Royals' Brian Flynn: Recalled from Triple-A

Flynn was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Flynn has improved his performance with Omaha as of late -- over his last 10 games, he's posted a 2.84 ERA and struck out 31 batters over 31.2 innings. He'll get a shot to to see if this recent success can translate to the majors; the 27-year-old hasn't appeared in a major-league game during the 2017 campaign.

  • Donnie Hart RP | BAL

Orioles' Donnie Hart: Heading up to Baltimore

Hart was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Since being optioned to Norfolk on Aug. 9, Hart has allowed two earned runs in six games (6.2 innings). He's had some success in the majors as well, posting a 3.12 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 39 games (34.2 innings) this season. In a corresponding move, Mike Wright was optioned to Norfolk.

  • Twins' Hector Santiago: Restarting rehab assignment Tuesday

Santiago (back) will resume his rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

Santiago has had his rehab assignment with Rochester shut down twice already. The lefty received a cortisone shot to address inflammation in his back, and it appears the injection has eased any pain he was experiencing. After throwing a bullpen session last week without issue, Santiago will begin the rehab stint again, but he may need multiple starts before being activated from the 10-day disabled list. It's unclear whether the playoff-contending Twins will view Santiago as a starting option upon his return to the big club; they may prefer to use him as a long reliever.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Astros' Ken Giles: Escapes bases-loaded jam for 26th save

Giles picked up his 26th save Sunday, holding the Angels without a run in the ninth inning despite allowing two hits with one walk and one strikeout.

Giles didn't have an easy time putting this 7-5 win away, allowing a single, an infield single and a walk to load the bases after getting the first two outs. He was able to narrowly escape, however, by getting Albert Pujols to fly out. Giles hasn't surrendered a run in 7.2 innings over his past six appearances and remains entrenched as Houston's closer.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Locks down 39th save

Colome struck out two Cardinals in a perfect 10th inning to earn his 39th save Sunday.

Colome had no trouble protecting a 3-2 lead in a game that featured five solo homers. He's converted 10 consecutive save opportunities and is now 39-for-44 this season.

  • Daniel Norris RP | CLE

Tigers' Daniel Norris: May require additional rehab start

Manager Brad Ausmus reported Sunday that Norris (groin) may receive one more minor-league rehab start before being activated from the disabled list and rejoining the Tigers' starting rotation, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Saturday's rehab start with Triple-A Toledo was expected to be Norris's final tune-up before rejoining the big-league rotation, but now the Tigers may string him out for one additional rehab appearance before activating him from the DL. Nothing is official at this point.

  • Buck Farmer RP | CIN

Tigers' Buck Farmer: Earns another start

Manager Brad Ausmus reported Sunday that Farmer will receive another start in the Tigers' rotation, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Farmer was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday and drew the start against the White Sox. He wasn't quite able to pick up a quality start, but he did put his team in line for the win by allowing just three runs over 5.2 innings of work. The Tigers will grant the 26-year-old another start, though he could find himself back in the minors when Daniel Norris (groin) returns from the disabled list in the next week or two.

  • Jake Diekman RP | ATL

Rangers' Jake Diekman: Rolling through rehab assignment

Diekman (abdomen) has tossed 4.1 perfect innings thus far during his rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock. He's struck out six batters during those contests.

It's been a long road to recovery from Diekman following three surgeries to address ulcerative colitis, but his dominance during the rehab assignment suggests he could be on the cusp of rejoining the big club. Once he's activated from the 60-day disabled list, Diekman could settle into an integral setup role for the Rangers, as the team is lacking in reliable or healthy options out of the bullpen beyond closer Alex Claudio.

  • Buck Farmer RP | CIN

Tigers' Buck Farmer: Earns third victory of Saturday

Farmer (3-1) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three across 5.2 innings to earn the victory Saturday against the White Sox.

Farmer gave up a two-run homer in the first inning, but settled down nicely while the Tigers' bats gave him plenty of offense to help him earn his third victory of the campaign. He was recalled to make this start, but unless he puts together a string of solid performances, he'll be difficult to trust in fantasy lineups. His next start has yet to be determined.
