  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Nabs 11th save

Treinen pitched a scoreless ninth inning to collect his 11th save of the season during Sunday's win over Philadelphia.

It had been a rough stretch for Treinen, as he lost three consecutive games to start September and entered Sunday with five runs allowed through six innings for the month. Still, he's the Oakland closer, and saves are at a premium at this stage of the fantasy season. Treinen should be owned in all settings.

  • Cody Sedlock RP | BAL

Orioles' Cody Sedlock: Disappoints in 20 starts at High-A

Sedlock (forearm) finished 2017 with a 5.90 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over 20 starts for High-A Frederick.

The right-handed prospect ended the campaign a bit early after suffering a strain in his throwing arm, but Sedlock had shown enough by the time he was shut down. It certainly wasn't the sophomore season 2016's first-round pick had hoped for, as opponents ripped Sedlock for a .313 BAA while pounding out 11 home runs over 90 innings. His efforts certainly don't warrant a promotion next year, so look for Sedlock to open 2018 right back in Frederick.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

Orioles' Tanner Scott: Hones offspeed pitches in 2017

Scott, who's expected to develop into a big-league closer, said being used in a limited starter's role this season at Double-A Bowie allowed him extended time to develop his offspeed pitches, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.

Scott's fastball typically sits in the mid-to-upper 90s, but he has no problem clocking in at triple digits routinely. Instead of using him as a minor-league reliever, the Orioles opted to start the left-hander in three-inning stints, giving Scott five or six days of rest in between. "Well, with the short starts, you can never win, but it was good. I developed my offspeed more," Scott said. "It was a good experience and I'm glad they did it and I'll see what they want me to do now."

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Collects 11th win

Manaea (11-10) allowed three runs -- just one earned -- on six hits and two walks while striking out four batters through five innings to secure the win against Philadelphia on Sunday.

After allowing seven runs through just 3.2 frames to Boston in his previous start, this was an encouraging bounce-back showing. Manaea sports a respectable 4.12 FIP and 7.9 K/9 for the season, and he's now allowed three runs or fewer in five of his past six outings, so his fantasy value is trending in the right direction. The 25-year-old lefty lines up for consecutive starts against the Rangers to finish the campaign.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Earns 45th save with scoreless inning

Colome worked around a hit in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 45th save of the season Sunday against the Red Sox.

Two days removed from a blown save, Colome didn't show any ill effects and curiously needed just four pitches to retire the side. He continues to rack up saves with regularity and currently leads the next closest competitor in the American League by nine in that category.

  • Dylan Covey RP | ATL

White Sox's Dylan Covey: Hit hard in loss to Tigers

Covey (0-6) allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks across 3.2 innings while taking the loss Sunday against the Tigers. He struck out three.

Covey constantly put men aboard and was scored upon at least once in all four innings in which he pitched. He threw just 51 percent of his pitches for strikes, tying the season high in free passes he set in his previous outing. Covey has been given the opportunity to contribute down the stretch, but he has allowed 19 runs over his last 19.1 innings to raise his ERA to an unsightly 8.18 for the year. He is scheduled to remain in the rotation for Saturday's start against the Royals.

  • Collin McHugh RP | ATL

Astros' Collin McHugh: Set to start Tuesday

McHugh (fingernail) is scheduled to start Tuesday against the White Sox, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.

McHugh's fingernail detached during his last start Sept. 8, but it's gotten to a point where he'll be able to pitch Tuesday. Prior to the start where he suffered the injury, McHugh had been pitching very well. Over the previous three outings, he posted a 0.54 ERA and 1.08 WHIP.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

Orioles' Tanner Scott: Headed to majors

The Orioles selected Scott's contract from Double-A Bowie on Sunday.

As planned, Scott is headed up to the big club for the first time in his career. Although he served as a starter with Bowie, where he logged a 2.22 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 24 games, it's expected that he'll work out of the bullpen during his first stint in the majors. In a corresponding move, Richard Rodriguez was designated for assignment.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Pitches two innings in rain-shortened outing

Graveman didn't factor into the decision after allowing one hit through two scoreless innings Saturday against the Phillies.

It's an unfortunate outcome for Graveman, who looked sharp before a rain delay interrupted his third inning of work. The delay lasted a couple of hours, so Chris Smith ended up taking the mound when play resumed. Graveman has now allowed just one run in 8.1 innings over his past two starts, lowering his ERA to 4.39 on the season. He'll look to keep improving when he takes the mound for his next start, which comes Friday against the Rangers.

  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Pitches seven strong despite head cold

Lopez (2-3) collected the win after allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks in seven innings Saturday against the Tigers. He struck out one batter.

Lopez was able to deliver his longest start of the season despite dealing with a bothersome head cold, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports. While he failed to secure a quality start for the first time in four outings, the 23-year-old was still able to pick up a victory, his second in as many weeks. His strikeout count has slowed in recent weeks after he fanned 19 batters in his first three starts (16.1 innings), notching just four strikeouts in his following three outings. He'll carry a 4.84 ERA and 1.33 WHIP into his next start, which is scheduled for Friday against the Royals.
