  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Takes no-decision in season finale

Lopez allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings in Wednesday's 6-4 extra-inning win over the Angels.

Lopez finishes the season with a no-decision and heads into the offseason with a 3-3 record and 4.72 ERA over eight starts. Despite what appear to be pedestrian marks, the young right-hander threw at least six innings in seven of his eight starts and showed improved command at the major-league level. He's done enough to warrant a spot in the team's rotation in 2018.

  • Matt Andriese RP | MIA

Rays' Matt Andriese: Runs out of gas Wednesday

Andriese (5-5) landed in the loss column after allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in five innings Wednesday against the Yankees. He struck out three batters.

Andriese looked solid through four innings before he started to run out of gas. He allowed a two-run double in the fifth to Aaron Judge before a leadoff homer in the sixth inning to Starlin Castro ended his outing. He's now allowed six homers and 19 runs in five starts (22 innings) since returning from a long-term hip injury, though he owns a respectable 21:6 K:BB over that span. The 28-year-old will finish the season with a 4.50 ERA and 76:28 K:BB through 86 innings, and a healthy Andriese should factor into the Rays' 2018 rotation plans.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Picks up win Wednesday

Treinen (3-6) picked up the win after tossing a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday against the Mariners.

Treinen allowed a one-out double but was able to get out of the inning unscathed. He's been solid when called upon for the A's, compiling a 2.25 ERA and 40 strikeouts while converting 11 of 14 save chances in 35 innings.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Fires second straight quality start

Graveman allowed three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out four batters in six innings Wednesday against the Mariners. He didn't factor into the decision.

After an up-and-down year, Graveman was able to end his season on a positive note, converting his third quality start in four tries while finishing up September with a respectable 3.12 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 26 innings. Graveman will finish the season 6-4 with a 4.19 ERA and 70:32 K:BB in 105.1 innings (19 starts), and he should be a favorite to return to the Athletics' starting rotation in 2018.

  • Rangers' Nick Martinez: Surrenders six runs in loss

Martinez (3-8) allowed six runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out two batters through five innings to take the loss against Houston on Wednesday.

Unless Martinez makes a surprise appearance out of the bullpen, he will finish the campaign with a 5.66 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 5.4 K/9 through 111.1 innings. The 27-year-old righty has bounced between the Texas rotation and bullpen over the past few seasons without consistent success, so there's unlikely to be a significant change at this stage of his career. Outside of AL-only setups, Martinez should probably be off the fantasy radar in the majority of settings entering 2017.

  • Rays' Andrew Kittredge: Scoreless inning Tuesday

Kittredge fired a scoreless fourth inning in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the Yankees, allowing a hit and a walk while also recording a strikeout.

Kittredge has hit his stride in what is his third big-league stint of 2017, posting scoreless efforts in eight of his nine outings. The 27-year-old right-hander coaxed his ERA under 2.00 with Tuesday's effort and has allowed just an earned run on five hits and four walks over nine September innings.

  • Brad Boxberger RP | CHC

Rays' Brad Boxberger: Scoreless outing in loss

Boxberger fired a scoreless fifth inning in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the Yankees, allowing a hit and recording a strikeout.

Boxberger has been perfect save for one outing in September, and he's now compiled five consecutive scoreless efforts. The 29-year-old right-hander has been reasonably effective after a late start to his season due to a back injury, although a trio of outings in which he's surrendered multiple earned runs has helped lead to a somewhat bloated 3.62 ERA. Boxberger's ability to miss bats remains intact, however, as he's compiled 37 whiffs over 27.1 innings.

  • Athletics' Daniel Mengden: Drops decision to Mariners on Tuesday

Mengden (2-2) took the loss against the Mariners on Tuesday, giving up four runs on five hits and three walks over six-plus innings while striking out three.

He extended his scoreless streak to 19 innings before the M's hung two runs on him in the fourth, and then Mengden allowed the first two batters he saw in the seventh to reach base before getting the hook, only to watch as Ryan Dull immediately served up a three-run homer to Danny Valencia. Mengden is slated to start Oakland's regular-season finale Sunday on the road against the Rangers.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Scoops up 33rd save Tuesday

Diaz struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to notch his 33rd save of the season in a 6-3 win over the A's.

He's had his struggles this season, but Diaz now hasn't blown a save since late July, converting his last 15 opportunities. The 23-year-old's 12.0 K/9 this year is elite, but he'll need to improve on his 4.5 BB/9 and 1.4 HR/9 if he's going to take another step forward in 2018.

  • Bryan Shaw RP | CIN

Indians' Bryan Shaw: Hit with loss after allowing three runs

Shaw (4-6) was tagged with the loss against Minnesota on Tuesday after giving up a three-run homer to Brian Dozier in the eighth inning.

He did record a pair of strikeouts, but Shaw put the ducks on the pond for Dozier and then gave up the long ball, leaving him with a 3.55 ERA and 1.21 WHIP -- not exactly spectacular bullpen numbers, but not altogether dissimilar to what he put up last season. Shaw hasn't offered his fantasy owners many surprises, collecting 20-plus holds for the fourth consecutive season in a setup role in front of Cody Allen.
