Ryan Pressly RP | CHC
Astros' Ryan Pressly: Earns second hold
Pressly allowed one hit in a scoreless inning of Friday's 3-2 win over Oakland.
Pressly worked a scoreless eighth inning to pick up his second hold of the season. The game was the prototype for how manager AJ Hinch would like a game to transpire: the starter (Collin McHugh) went six quality innings followed by Hector Rondon in the seventh, Pressly in the eighth and closer Roberto Osuna nailing down a save in the ninth. Pressly is entrenched as the setup man for Osuna.

Brian Johnson RP | BOS
Red Sox's Brian Johnson: Lit up Friday
Johnson allowed seven runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings in Friday's 15-8 loss to Arizona.
Johnson's first three outings were encouraging as the left-hander showed increased velocity and was dominant. That all changed Friday when he needed 39 pitches to get four outs. That he was used so much may preclude Johnson from getting Sunday's spot start, although Friday's appearance may qualify as an in-between-starts bullpen session. Either Johnson or Hector Velazquez or both will figure prominently in the series finale Sunday.

Collin McHugh RP | ATL
Astros' Collin McHugh: Stifles A's in win
McHugh (1-1) struck out four and picked up the win, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings in a 3-2 victory over the A's on Friday.
The right-hander threw 56 of 94 pitches for strikes in his first quality start of the season. McHugh has looked good so far in his return to the rotation, posting a 13:4 K:BB through 11 innings, and he'll try to keep rolling Wednesday at home against a battered -- but still dangerous -- Yankees squad.

Jhoan Duran RP | PHI
Twins' Jhoan Duran: Dominant in first High-A start
Duran threw four scoreless innings with four strikeouts and one walk in his first start for High-A Fort Myers. He did not allow a hit.
Duran can reach 100 mph with his fastball and had an impressive 10.3 K/9 last season at Low-A. Duran's command needs some work for him to make it as a starter, but he's off to a good start at Fort Myers.

Brusdar Graterol RP | LAD
Twins' Brusdar Graterol: Six strikeouts in Double-A debut
Graterol gave up one run over 4.2 innings Friday in his debut for Double-A Pensacola. He struck out six, walked two, and twice reached 100 mph on the radar gun.
The 20-year old pitches comfortably in the high 90s and has become Minnesota's top pitching prospect. He'll need to improve his secondary pitches to dominate at higher levels, but his first Double-A outing was encouraging.

Adam Cimber RP | LAA
Indians' Adam Cimber: Grabs win in relief
Cimber (1-0) struck out two in a perfect inning of relief Friday to record the win in a 3-2 victory over the Blue Jays.
The other pitcher who headed to Cleveland last year in the same deal that netted closer Brad Hand, Cimber is of to a solid start to 2019, picking up a win and a hold while posting a 3:0 K:BB in 2.2 innings across four appearances without giving up a run.The second-year sidearmer will continue to be deployed in high-leverage spots and should easily be able to top last year's 12 holds.

Trent Thornton RP | CHC
Blue Jays' Trent Thornton: Fans seven in no-decision
Thornton didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 3-2 loss to Cleveland, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings while striking out seven.
The 25-year-old was fairly impressive once again in his second big-league outing, throwing 52 of 92 pitches for strikes while falling just shy of his first quality start. Thornton is quickly solidifying his spot in the Jays' rotation, and he'll take his next turn Friday at home against the Rays.

Alex Colome RP | CHW
White Sox's Alex Colome: Notches save No. 2
Colome struck out two and picked up the save in a perfect ninth inning Friday against Seattle.
Colome slammed the door without issue, as he induced a fly ball for the first out and fanned the next two batters to end the ballgame. The 30-year-old has yet to allow a hit through three appearances (three innings) in 2019.
-
Jose Alvarado RP | PHI
Rays' Jose Alvarado: Earns third save
Alvarado posted a strikeout, walk and hit over one inning while nailing down his third save of the season in a 5-2 victory against the Giants on Friday.
The Rays have used Alvarado in the eighth inning a couple times already, but he's still their best option in save situations. Alvarado has been perfect, pitching 5.0 shutout innings and going 3-for-3 in save chances to open the season. He has also struck out nine with two walks and three hits allowed in five innings.

Ryne Stanek RP | STL
Rays' Ryne Stanek: To open Saturday
Stanek will serve as the opener Saturday against San Francisco, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Stanek is set to open for the second time this season after tossing a scoreless frame in his previous appearance Monday against Colorado. He's yet to surrender a run over four innings and has registered five strikeouts in 2019.
