Giles (elbow) is beginning a throwing program, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Giles has already been ruled out for the entire 2021 season. Assuming he continues to progress in his rehab, he should be ready to take the mound for the start of the 2022 campaign.

Fulmer pitched a clean ninth inning while striking out the side in a non-save situation during Thursday's 6-2 win over the Orioles.

The four-run lead meant Fulmer couldn't earn his seventh save of the season, but it's still a positive sign that he was asked to close out the game. The righty did it in impressive fashion as well with the three strikeouts, giving him 46 in 42 innings this year. Fulmer should remain in the end-game mix for Detroit, along with Gregory Soto and Jose Cisnero.

Wells (1-1) took the loss against Detroit on Thursday, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts over five innings.

Wells was ineffective against a Tigers squad that had rolled up 28 runs in its three-game series with the Twins. He allowed a pair of runs in the first inning and additional runs in both the third and fifth, the latter coming on a Miguel Cabrera solo homer. Through his first two MLB starts, Wells has given up seven runs in 10.2 innings of work with an 11:5 K:BB.

Munoz (elbow) has begun a throwing program, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Munoz threw off a mound in the middle of July and will continue to ramp up his work while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He is not expected to return to formal game action this season, though his progress bodes well for a potential return early in the 2022 campaign.

Santiago has been suspended for 80 games after testing positive for exogenous testosterone, in violation of MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment program, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Santiago faced a 10-game ban earlier in the season for having a foreign substance on his glove. He'll now face a lengthier suspension and will not appeal. Santiago should be able to serve about 55 games of the suspension by the end of the campaign, meaning he could be reinstated at some point in May of the 2022 season.

Chargois was traded from the Mariners to the Rays along with Austin Shenton on Thursday in exchange for Diego Castillo, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Chargois has been a key member of the Mariners bullpen to this point in the campaign. He's maintained a 3.00 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 29 strikeouts across 30 innings while also tallying nine holds. Though Chargois has zero career saves, the Rays' bullpen usage is unpredictable, so it's possible he picks up some save chances. That's particularly true while Pete Fairbanks (shoulder), J.P. Feyereisen (biceps) and Nick Anderson (elbow) all remain sidelined.

Weber was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Weber was called up by the Mariners on Sunday, and he allowed two runs on a hit and two walks while striking out one in three innings across two relief appearances with the major-league club. He'll now return to Triple-A Tacoma to make room for left-hander Tyler Anderson, who was acquired from the Pirates via trade Wednesday.

Poche (elbow) won't pitch in 2021, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Poche has been on the 60-day injured list since mid-February as he continues to recover from Tommy John surgery that he underwent in July of 2020. Manager Kevin Cash ruled the southpaw out for the season Thursday, and he'll now presumably shift his attention toward preparing for spring training in 2022.

Peralta (illness) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Thursday.

Peralta has been out for two weeks after testing positive for COVID-19. Given the relatively brief nature of his absence, he probably won't need too many rehab outings before he's ready to return.

Luetge struck out four without allowing a hit or a walk over two innings in Wednesday's win over Tampa Bay.

After Nestor Cortes gave New York five strong innings as the starter, Luetge came on for the sixth and seventh frames with the score tied 1-1. The left-hander retired all six batters he faced, collecting two punchouts in each of his frames. Luetge hasn't pitched in many high-leverage spots but is putting together a strong campaign after a six-year absence from MLB, posting a 3.06 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 51:8 K:BB across 47 innings.
