Vasquez allowed two runs on two hits across one-third of an inning during Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Red Sox.

With Ryan Borucki (finger) on the 10-day injured list, Vasquez was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo before Wednesday's contest. The lefty had a rough start to his 2022 campaign, allowing three of the four hitters he faced to reach base. Vasquez has made just four appearances since 2018.

Thornton (0-1) took the loss Wednesday after allowing two runs on three hits across one inning during the Red Sox's 7-1 victory.

Thornton replaced Blue Jays starter Ross Stripling in the sixth inning and immediately got into trouble by allowing three straight singles. The next batter -- Enrique Hernandez -- hit a two-run sacrifice fly, giving the Red Sox a 3-1 lead, but Thornton was able to limit the damage by retiring the next two batters. After allowing a run during his first outing of the season, Thornton had registered four straight scoreless appearances before getting touched up Wednesday.

Schreiber pitched a scoreless eighth inning during Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays. He struck out one and didn't record a walk.

Schreiber and Tyler Danish were both called up from Triple-A Worcester on Monday to replace Tanner Houck and Kutter Crawford, who are ineligible to compete in the Red Sox's current four-game series in Toronto due to their statuses as unvaccinated players. It was Schreiber's first MLB outing of the season and just his second since 2020.

Neris did not allow a baserunner and pitched a scoreless eighth inning Wednesday against the Rangers.

Neris entered the game with a one-run lead and retired Corey Seager, Nathaniel Lowe and Mitch Garver on only 12 pitches. Ryne Stanek came on to earn the save in the ninth inning. The closer situation remains ambiguous in Houston, as this was the team's first converted save since Ryan Pressly (knee) was placed on the injured list. However, if Wednesday's usage carries forward, it appears that manager Dusty Baker may prefer to use Neris in high-leverage spots and not necessarily save situations, which would limit his fantasy upside even with Pressly out.

Moore allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two over two scoreless innings in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Astros.

Moore nearly had an immaculate sixth inning, striking out the first two batters on six pitches and getting to 0-2 on the third batter before a groundout on the ninth and final pitch of the frame. The lefty, who made his fourth consecutive scoreless appearance Wednesday, has allowed one run on four hits and eight walks while striking out 10 over 8.1 innings since his contract was selected April 16. While the walk rate needs to be better, Moore credits a new grip on his curveball for his results, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Texas manager Chris Woodward has been impressed, and it looks like Moore will remain in the bullpen even when Josh Sborz (elbow) returns from the injured list.

Jimenez picked up a save in Wednesday's 1-0 win against the Giants, pitching a perfect ninth inning.

Jimenez was tasked with preserving a one-run lead in the ninth inning and made quick work of three Giants hitters, retiring the side on only 10 pitches. It was the right-hander's eighth straight scoreless outing to begin the campaign, and he has allowed only six hits while posting a 9:2 K:BB across eight innings thus far. Jimenez has racked up four saves while Lou Trivino has been on the COVID-19 list, and the former may be forcing his way into more closing opportunities even after Trivino returns given his standout performance in the early going.

Krehbiel (1-2) took the loss Wednesday versus the Yankees. He allowed a run on a hit and a walk with one strikeout in one-third of an inning.

Krehbiel was called upon with the game tied at 2-2 in the sixth inning, but he promptly allowed two of the three batters he faced to get aboard. Felix Bautista relieved him and couldn't escape the jam, surrendering a sacrifice fly to Giancarlo Stanton. This was the first earned run Krehbiel's surrendered this season -- he gave up three unearned runs to the Athletics in his other loss April 18. The 29-year-old sports a 1.04 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 8:4 K:BB and one hold in eight outings spanning 8.2 innings this season.

Snider (2-1) allowed two runs on two hits and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Wednesday versus the White Sox.

Snider opened the season with six consecutive scoreless outings spanning 5.1 innings. He's now given up three runs across two innings in his last three appearances, with the right-hander responsible for two of the three runs the White Sox scored to take the lead in the seventh inning Wednesday. Snider has done alright with a 3.68 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 6:2 K:BB and two holds through 7.1 innings overall.

Otto didn't factor in the decision against Houston on Wednesday. He pitched 4.1 innings and allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five.

Otto fell back a bit after a one-run, five-inning performance in his first outing of the campaign, but he hung in well enough to keep Texas in the game and avoid taking a loss. The right-hander fell behind immediately when Chas McCormick led off the game with a home run, but Otto recovered from there, and the only other run he surrendered came after he departed the contest in the fifth inning. With two adequate showings under his belt, Otto could be making a push to remain in the rotation long-term. His next start tentatively lines up to come in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Stanek allowed one run on one hit and one walk while striking out one in one inning to record a save against the Rangers on Wednesday.

With Ryan Pressly (knee) on the injured list, fantasy managers have been eager to see who would notch Houston's first save in his stead. Hector Neris has been a popular pickup, but he pitched the eighth and registered a hold Wednesday, with Stanek given the opportunity to close things out in the ninth. The right-hander made things interesting, allowing a run on a walk and a double before striking out Kole Calhoun with the tying run on third base to end the game. Pressly may not be far from a return, and Stanek isn't a lock for the team's next save opportunity while the No. 1 closer is out, so the latter is only a speculative short-term pickup in fantasy.
