Iglesias (2-5) allowed three runs on four hits and no walks while striking out one in two-thirds of an inning to take the loss in Friday's game against the Orioles.

Iglesias was called upon to preserve a two-run lead Friday, and he retired the first two batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth inning. However, he allowed the next three batters to record hits and was ultimately charged with his first blown save since June 5. The right-hander served a one-game suspension Sunday against the Astros and has given up four runs in 1.2 innings over two appearances since returning to the field.

Martin struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning to earn a save over Minnesota on Friday.

With the Rangers recently removing Joe Barlow from the closer's role, Martin saw his first save opportunity since April 11. He needed just 10 pitches to retire the Twins in order and finish off the 6-5 win. Martin's riding an 8.2-inning scoreless streak dating back to the start of June, lowering his season ERA to 3.12 through 26 frames. The 27-year-old has an 0-4 record with four holds and a save on the year.

Lawrence was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.

Lawrence struggled over two major-league appearances in July, posting an 11.88 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 8.1 innings. After giving up five runs in 2.2 innings as the primary pitcher Thursday against the Mariners, he'll head back to the minors. It's possible that he rejoins the Blue Jays as a multi-inning option out of the bullpen at some point.

Garcia (back) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Garcia struck out two in a perfect inning during his lone rehab appearance at Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, and he'll rejoin the Blue Jays' bullpen ahead of Friday's game against Seattle. The right-hander should reclaim high-leverage duties after he picked up 12 holds in 28 appearances to begin the year.

Logue will be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to start Saturday's game against the Astros, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Logue was sent down in late May, and he posted a 5.03 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 34 innings over six starts for Las Vegas following his demotion. He'll start in place of Frankie Montas (shoulder) on Saturday, but it's possible that Montas is able to return after missing just one turn through the rotation. If that's the case, Logue will likely head back to Las Vegas after Saturday's start.

Santana could be the favorite for save opportunities after manager Chris Woodward announced Friday that Joe Barlow has been removed from the closer role, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Santana picked up his lone save of the season in late May and has primarily worked as a setup man this year with 13 holds, but Barlow's demotion opens up the ninth-inning role. Santana has been effective with a 2.25 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 24:8 K:BB over 32 innings, though it appears he won't simply be stepping in as the Rangers' new closer, as Woodward said he'll now utilize a matchup-based approach for saves, per Levi Weaver of The Athletic. Matt Bush (forearm) appears close to returning from the injured list and could also be in the late-inning mix.

Barlow will pitch in a lower-leverage role for now, with the Rangers switching to a committee approach in the ninth inning, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Barlow has 13 of the Rangers' 17 saves this season, but he hasn't been particularly convincing despite his solid 3.18 ERA. He hasn't missed nearly enough bats, with his 19.3 percent strikeout rate ranking second-last among the 24 pitchers who've recorded double-digit saves this season, beating only Mark Melancon. Dennis Santana has been used in the highest-leverage situations among Rangers relievers other than Barlow, so he could be the top choice for saves going forward, though the team seems to be planning on spreading opportunities around.

Peralta earned a hold against the Red Sox on Thursday, pitching 1.1 perfect innings during which he struck out two batters.

Peralta needed only 12 pitches to retire four hitters, and he finished with his seventh straight scoreless outing. Over that span, he's allowed only two hits and posted a 9:3 K:BB over 6.2 innings. Peralta has been one of New York's best relievers this season, posting a 1.99 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB across 31.2 frames. He's registered eight holds, a save and two wins.

Ortega was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.

Ortega's latest big-league stint lasted just over two weeks. He posted a 3.86 ERA in seven innings and recorded his first career save, but he also stumbled to a 2.00 WHIP. Reid Detmers was recalled in a corresponding move.

Pressly picked up the save Thursday against the Royals. He allowed allowed zero baserunners while striking out one over one inning.

Pressly came on in the ninth with a three-run lead and retired Nicky Lopez, Ryan O'Hearn and Whit Merrifield to secure his 18th save. The veteran closer sports a 3.38 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP with a 24:8 K:BB across 24.0 innings this season.
