  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: On bench versus lefty

Belt is not in the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.

Left-hander Trevor Rogers is starting Sunday for Miami, so Belt will head to the bench for the first time this season. Darin Ruf will start at first base in his place while Wilmer Flores serves as the designated hitter.

  • Astros' Michael Brantley: Not in Sunday's lineup

Brantley is not in Sunday's lineup against the Angels.

Manager Dusty Baker noted that he plans to give his veterans regular days off early in the season, and Brantley's absence from the lineup falls in line with that plan. Jose Siri will start in Brantley's absence while playing in center field and hitting first.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: On bench vs. lefty

Blackmon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.

Blackmon is 1-for-9 with a double, an RBI and four strikeouts over the first two games of the season and will take a seat Sunday with southpaw Julio Urias on the mound for Los Angeles. Randal Grichuk will man right field with Yonathan Daza starting in center for the series finale.

  • Pirates' Daniel Vogelbach: Absent from Sunday's lineup

Vogelbach is not starting Sunday against the Cardinals, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Vogelbach started and led off in each of the team's first two games. However, with lefty Steven Matz on the mound, he will remain on the bench. Yoshi Tsutsugo will serve as the designated hitter while Michael Chavis will start at first base and hit third.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Rangers' Brad Miller: On bench versus southpaw

Miller is not in the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Miller started in left field the first two games of the campaign and went 2-for-8 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored, but he'll head to the bench Sunday with Toronto sending out lefty Hyun Jin Ryu. Nick Solak will start in left for the Rangers as the short side of the platoon.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Plates two in win

Jimenez went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Tigers.

Jimenez put the White Sox on the board in the top of the first inning, singling to shallow center field with two outs to score Luis Robert and Jose Abreu. The slugger is still looking for his first extra-base hit of the season, but he's made both of his base knocks count by driving in three runs through two games. He'll be back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, playing left field and batting cleanup, according to Scott Merkin of MLB.com.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Bangs out three hits Saturday

Ozuna went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Reds.

The veteran slugger brought home the first run of the game on a two-bagger in the first inning. Ozuna got the start in left field Saturday and hit cleanup, but he should spend most of his time this season at DH. The 31-year-old is off to a quick start to 2022, going 4-for-11 through three games, but he's still looking for his first home run.

  • Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Swats second homer

Stanton went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the Yankees' 4-2 win over the Red Sox on Saturday.

After going deep on Opening Day, Stanton smashed the ball over the fence again Saturday, providing the decisive runs with a 437-foot two-run shot off Nick Pivetta in the sixth inning. Notably, the slugger started in right field while Josh Donaldson took over as the team's designated hitter, which correlates with Stanton's statement Thursday that he will play the outfield "a few times a week," per Marly Rivera of ESPN.com. Both of Stanton's hits this season have left the yard.

  • Byron Buxton DH | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Homers in loss

Buxton went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and was hit by a pitch in Saturday's 4-3 loss against Seattle.

Buxton gave the Twins the lead with his eighth-inning blast off Andres Munoz. After signing a seven-year, $100 million extension in the offseason, Buxton tore up Grapefruit League pitching with a remarkable .469/.514/1.094 batting line. The 28-year-old had a career-high 19 home runs in only 61 games in 2021 and, if healthy, should continue to provide significant power at the top of the Minnesota lineup.

  • Mark Canha LF | TEX

Mets' Mark Canha: Not in starting lineup

Canha isn't starting Saturday's game against Washington.

Canha started the last two games and went 4-for-6 with two runs, an RBI, three walks and two strikeouts. Travis Jankowski will start in left field and bat seventh.
