Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Not in starting nine
Stanton isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Stanton has gone 0-for-7 with an RBI and a strikeout across his last two appearances, and he'll get a chance to reset after starting each of the first five games of the season. Josh Donaldson will serve as the designated hitter while Gleyber Torres enters the lineup at second base.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Mariners' Jesse Winker: Out against lefty
Winker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
With a southpaw (Dallas Keuchel) on the hill for Chicago, the lefty-hitting Winker will take a seat for the first time this season. The righty-hitting Dylan Moore will replace Winker in left field.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Mariners' Jesse Winker: On base thrice in loss
Winker went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and two walks in a loss to the White Sox on Tuesday.
Winker got the Mariners to within a run with his timely ninth-inning single that plated J.P. Crawford. The offseason acquisition has just three hits -- all singles -- in his first five games, but he's drawn at least one walk in each outing on his way to a .435 on-base percentage over his first 23 plate appearances.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Giants' Joc Pederson: Riding pine against southpaw
Pederson isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Padres, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Pederson will get a breather in Wednesday's series finale with left-hander Sean Manaea on the mound for San Diego. Darin Ruf, Austin Slater and Heliot Ramos will start in the outfield from left to right.
-
Darin Ruf DH | MIL
Giants' Darin Ruf: Logs start in outfield
Ruf will start in left field and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Padres, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
After starting at either designated hitter or first base in the Giants' first five games, Ruf will get some exposure to the outfield as a replacement for the lefty-hitting Joc Pederson, who takes a seat with southpaw Sean Manaea on the mound for San Diego. Ruf has produced only one extra-base hit (a double) through five games, but he's getting on base at a .391 clip.

Brandon Belt DH | TOR
Giants' Brandon Belt: Idle against lefty
Belt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
With a lefty (Sean Manaea) on the hill for Padres and the Giants playing a day game after a night game, manager Gabe Kapler opted to extend a breather to the lefty-hitting Belt. Wilmer Flores will fill in at first base for Belt, who has gone 7-for-16 with two home runs, a double and three walks through his first four games.
-
Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Remains out of lineup
Alvarez (illness) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Alvarez was unavailable Tuesday due to an illness and will remain out of the lineup for a second straight day. Whether he's available off the bench remains to be seen, but Michael Brantley will serve as the designated hitter while Aledmys Diaz starts in left field.
-
Seth Beer DH | PIT
Diamondbacks' Seth Beer: Not starting Wednesday
Beer isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Beer has started in three of the first five games of the regular season, and he's gone 3-for-12 with a home run, three RBI and a walk. However, Cooper Hummel will serve as the designated hitter and lead off with left-hander Framber Valdez on the mound Wednesday.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Drives in run, scores Tuesday
Turner went 1-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI in Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Twins.
The RBI was the first of the season for Turner, who has hit fourth or fifth in each of the Dodgers' four games to date. With two of the three stars ahead of him in the order -- Mookie Betts and Trea Turner -- all sitting on on-base averages under .250, Turner hasn't had many run-producing opportunities, but the Dodgers offense is too talented to stay down for long. The seven runs Tuesday were the team's most of the season, after Los Angeles produced a combined 11 runs over its three-game series in Colorado last weekend.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Brewers' Andrew McCutchen: Picks up three RBI
McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in Tuesday's 5-4 victory over the Orioles.
It took McCutchen five games to knock in his first runs with the Brewers, but the trio of them he picked up Tuesday were key to his team's victory. McCutchen is being put in position to help fantasy players, as he has hit cleanup in the three games in which a right-hander has started for the opponent and leadoff in the two games in which the Brewers have taken on a southpaw.
