  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Turner is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game versus Milwaukee.

Turner is 6-for-16 with a home run, four RBI, two runs and two stolen bases over the past four games and will receive Tuesday off. Trayce Thompson will bat ninth as the designated hitter against Brewers righty Corbin Burnes.

  • Bligh Madris DH | STL

Pirates' Bligh Madris: On bench against lefty

Madris is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Madris will head to the bench with southpaw Max Fried on the bump for Atlanta. Platoon mate Michael Chavis steps in for Madris at first base.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Rangers' Brad Miller: Heads to bench Tuesday

Miller is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Rockies.

Even with the Rangers facing a righty (German Marquez), Miller will head to the bench in favor of Bubba Thompson. Miller is hitting .226 with zero home runs in 31 at-bats this month.

  • Byron Buxton DH | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: To IL with hip strain

Buxton was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a low-grade right hip strain, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Buxton's hip injury was already serious enough to warrant an MRI, and the fact that he didn't travel with the team to Houston suggested a stint on the IL was on tap. Gilberto Celestino and Jake Cave could see extra playing time while Buxton is out.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Scratched with knee issue

Belt was removed from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Detroit after experiencing a flareup of a knee injury, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The Giants don't view the knee issue as a major concern, and Belt will be considered day-to-day for the time being. With Belt on the bench Tuesday, Wilmer Flores will cover first base and Thairo Estrada will enter the starting nine to play second base.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Sitting versus lefty

Choi is not in the starting lineup Tuesday versus the Angels, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Choi will sit for the fourth straight game as the Rays take on the Angels and left-hander Jose Suarez. Harold Ramirez will start at first base and bat fourth Tuesday.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

    Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Rejoins lineup

Ohtani (illness) will serve as the Angels' designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Tuesday's game against the Rays.

Ohtani was withheld from the starting nine in Monday's 2-1 loss after he exited early in his start during Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Tigers due to a stomach bug, but the two-way superstar looks like he'll made a full recovery from the ailment. According to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register, Ohtani has already been cleared to make his next start as a pitcher Saturday in Toronto, so he should serve as the Angels' DH for the next four games unless interim manager Phil Nevin elects to give him a breather.

  • Mets' Daniel Vogelbach: Slugs 16th homer

Vogelbach went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Yankees.

He supplied the only offense for the Mets on the night, taking Domingo German deep in the seventh inning. Vogelbach has solidified the DH spot for his new club, slashing .284/.418/.541 through 26 games since being traded from the Pirates with four of his 16 homers on the season and 15 of his 49 RBI.

  • Byron Buxton DH | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Set for MRI on hip

Buxton will get an MRI on his sore right hip and won't play Tuesday in Houston, Patrick Borzi of MinnPost.com reports.

Buxton was removed from Monday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers due to the sore hip, an injury he's been nursing for awhile. The 28-year-old could be dealing with more than a day-to-day injury, but the Twins aren't likely to provide a clear update on his outlook until the results of the MRI are available.

  • Byron Buxton DH | MIN

Twins' Byron Buxton: Nursing hip tightness

Buxton was pulled from Monday's game against the Rangers due to right hip tightness, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

It initially looked as though Buxton was dealing with a knee injury, but the team announced later in the night that a hip injury was the reason for his removal. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward, per Gleeman.
