Canha went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Dodgers.

Canha continues to rake, as he slugged his 11th long ball of the season, a solo shot off Andrew Heaney in the fourth inning. The veteran outfielder has been on a tear recently, slashing .360/.448/.760 since Aug. 20 entering Tuesday. He now owns a 135 wRC+ this season, which would be the second highest mark of his career.

Morel went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Morel continues to have a solid rookie season, as he connected for his 13th home run of the season in the sixth inning. He's at nine stolen bases as well, and double figures in both categories would be impressive, especially considering he's only played in 86 games. Morel has seemingly played his way onto the 2023 Opening Day roster for the Cubs, and the 23-year-old could be primed for a breakout campaign if he keeps contributing power and speed.

Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a double in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Mariners.

Cabrera was playing in his first game since last Friday and just his fourth in the last two weeks. The veteran has dealt with some lingering knee pain, and the 50-79 Tigers have been inclined to roll with younger players. Cabrera is batting a respectable .261, but a lack of power and now a dip in playing time limits his fantasy appeal.

Pederson is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Pederson went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Monday after missing the previous two games with a groin injury, and he'll take a seat Tuesday with lefty Blake Snell on the mound for the Friars. Thairo Estrada will move out to left field with Wilmer Flores covering the keystone.

Mercedes was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento and will start Tuesday versus San Diego, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Mercedes was demoted in early August but will rejoin the big club with Joey Bart (concussion) placed on the injured list. The 29-year-old will serve as the backup catcher while Austin Wynns fills in as the starter, though Mercedes is starting at first base Tuesday, according to Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com.

Belt received a second opinion on his right knee Tuesday and was recommended surgery, and he'll take the next 24 hours to weigh his options before deciding whether to undergo the procedure, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The 34-year-old is battling chronic inflammation in his right knee and underwent an MRI on Friday, which didn't reveal any additional damage, but he was still recommended to undergo surgery when further evaluated. Belt has already had the knee drained three times this season, and a procedure would likely end his 2022 campaign. The veteran first baseman has been limited to 78 games this year due to injuries and has a career-worst .676 OPS.

Jimenez (leg) is batting cleanup as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Royals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Jimenez has been in and out of the lineup recently due to leg soreness. Over his last 10 games, the designated hitter has slashed .276/.488/.414 with a home run, two RBI and 11 walks.

Alvarez (hand) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Left hand soreness is sidelining Alvarez for the second straight game, and it's unclear how soon he'll be re-entering the lineup. J.J. Matijevic is the designated hitter Tuesday.

Blackmon is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Atlanta, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

The Rockies will send two of their lefty-hitting regulars to the bench in the series opener, as Blackmon and Ryan McMahon will both take seats with southpaw Max Fried taking the hill for Atlanta. Blackmon's absence opens up room at designated hitter for C.J. Cron, while Triple-A Albuquerque call-up Michael Toglia makes his MLB debut at Cron's usual first-base spot.

Vogelbach is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

With southpaw Andrew Heaney on the hill for Los Angeles, the lefty-hitting Vogelbach will retreat to the bench. Platoon mate Darin Ruf will step in as the Mets' designated hitter in Vogelbach's stead.
