Choi is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The lefty-hitting Choi is sitting against a right-handed starting pitcher (Michael Wacha) for the third time in five matchups, signaling that he no longer has a hold on a strong-side platoon role. Harold Ramirez and Isaac Paredes should continue to cut into his opportunities to face right-handed pitching while Choi is holding down a lowly .391 OPS since the All-Star break.

Blackmon went 1-for-5 with two RBI across both games of Sunday's doubleheader against the Reds.

Blackmon was out of the lineup for the first game of the twin bill, but he delivered a two-run single as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning. During the team's eight-game road trip that concluded Sunday, Blackmon went 6-for-28 with only one extra-base hit and no counting stats excluding Sunday's effort. For the season, he owns a .267/.316/.430 line across 507 plate appearances.

Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in Sunday's 9-1 over the Angels.

Alvarez returned to the lineup for the first time in the last five games due to a hand injury. He made the most of his one knock, driving in a pair on a single in the ninth inning. Despite battling some nagging injuries, Alvarez has maintained a .416 wOBA and 178 wRC+ across 457 plate appearances for the season.

McCutchen is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Arizona.

McCutchen looks to be receiving a veteran's day off after he went 2-for-6 with an RBI while playing all 10 innings of Saturday's 8-6 win. Keston Hiura will serve as the Brewers' designated hitter in place of McCutchen.

The Giants transferred Belt (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

The transaction comes after Belt underwent season-ending surgery Saturday to address chronic inflammation in his right knee. With the surgery going according to plan, Belt is expected to spend the next two months rehabbing before potentially resuming baseball activities prior to end of 2022. With Belt's move to the 60-day IL, the Giants were able to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for infielder/outfielder Jose Rojas, whom the team claimed off waivers from the Angels.

Pederson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The switch-hitting Bryce Johnson will spell the lefty-hitting Pederson in the lineup with the Phillies bringing a southpaw (Ranger Suarez) to the hill for the series finale. Pederson is currently in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak in which he's slashed an incredible .542/.633/.958 with three home runs, one double, five walks, 14 RBI and seven runs.

Ohtani is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Ohtani allowed one run over eight innings on the mound and went 0-for-4 with a walk Saturday against the Astros, and he'll receive a rest day for the series finale. Mike Trout will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Ryan Aguilar makes a start in center field.

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Ramirez looks to be receiving some routine maintenance after he saw a four-game multi-hit streak come to an end when he went 0-for-4 in Saturday's 2-1 win. David Peralta will step in as the Rays' designated hitter Sunday in place of Ramirez, who started in each of the previous 14 contests while slashing .339/.333/.403 with 12 RBI and eight runs over that stretch.

Alvarez (hand) is starting in left field and batting third Sunday against the Angels, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Alvarez hasn't seen the field since Aug. 27 due to hand soreness, but he'll return to action in Sunday's series finale versus the Halos. The 25-year-old struggled while playing through the injury in August and had a .234/.326/.312 slash line with one home run, three doubles, 10 RBI and 11 runs in 23 games.

Martinez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Rangers, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Martinez started the last 14 games and will receive a day off after he posted a .276/.323/.431 slash line with two home runs, five RBI and six runs during that span. Tommy Pham will serve as the designated hitter while Franchy Cordero starts in left field.
