J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Dodgers' J.D. Martinez: Out again Thursday
Martinez (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Martinez will take a seat for a second straight day while he deals with back tightness. The hope was that the veteran designated hitter would require only one day off due to the injury, but the Dodgers will give him an extra day to recover. David Peralta will serve as the designated hitter Wednesday while Martinez sits again.

Daniel Vogelbach DH | TOR
Mets' Daniel Vogelbach: Sits versus lefty
Vogelbach is on the bench versus lefty MacKenzie Gore and the Nationals on Wednesday.
The designated hitter has gone 5-for-13 with a double and two RBI during a four-game hitting streak. Tommy Pham fills in for Vogelbach as the DH for Wednesday's contest.

Franmil Reyes DH | WAS
Royals' Franmil Reyes: Heads to bench Wednesday
Reyes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
After being reinstated from the paternity list Monday, Reyes started at designated hitter in both of the first two games of the series in Arizona, going hitless across eight at-bats. He'll bow out of the starting nine for the series finale and will cede DH duties to MJ Melendez.

Brandon Belt DH | TOR
Blue Jays' Brandon Belt: Resting Wednesday
Belt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
With the Blue Jays and White Sox concluding their series with a day game after a night game, Belt and outfielder Kevin Kiermaier will receive maintenance days. Alejandro Kirk will get a day off behind the plate to serve as the Blue Jays' designated hitter in Belt's stead.
-
Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Sitting for day game
Buxton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Buxton looks to be sitting out for maintenance purposes while the Twins and Yankees conclude their series with a day game after a night game. Jose Miranda will step in as the Twins' designated hitter in place of Buxton, who has settled into a groove at the dish of late with seven hits -- including two home runs and three doubles -- over his last six games.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Launches fifth homer
MuCutchen went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 8-7 loss to the Dodgers.
His fourth-inning blast off Noah Syndergaard gave the Pirates a 7-2 lead, but the win slipped through the bullpen's grasp. McCutchen is proving that you can go home again after all -- through his first 21 games in his return to Pittsburgh, the veteran outfielder is slashing .270/.371/.527 with five homers, three steals, 12 runs and 12 RBI.
-
Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Clubs second homer
Blackmon went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Guardians.
He led off the game with a solo shot, the 40th leadoff homer of his career. Blackmon doesn't have much power or speed left in his profile -- he's got two home runs and zero steals in 23 games to begin the season -- but he's still effective at the top of the lineup, slashing .274/.390/.417 through 100 plate appearances.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Swipes two bases
Ohtani went 0-for-4 with two stolen bases in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.
Ohtani reached base in the fifth via a fielder's choice and wound up stealing second and third but would not score. It was a quiet day for him otherwise, and he's now slashing .253/.327/.460 with five homers, 13 RBI, 14 runs and a 10:24 BB:K over 98 plate appearances.
-
Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Launches fourth homer
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run during Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Yankees.
The 29-year-old doubled and was stranded during the second inning, and he broke a 2-2 tie during the sixth with a 367-foot homer to left field. It's the first time since April 11 -- and only the third time all season -- Buxton has delivered multiple RBI in a game. He has a .244/.308/.463 slash line with four home runs, 10 RBI and a 33 percent strikeout rate through 22 games this year.

Harold Ramirez DH | WAS
Rays' Harold Ramirez: Takes seat Tuesday
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The Tampa Bay outfield and designated-hitter picture became more murky Tuesday with Jose Siri (hamstring) returning from the injured list, but despite getting Tuesday off, Ramirez should be well insulated from a playing-time perspective. Ramirez enters the series opener in Houston sporting a monstrous 1.145 OPS over his 69 plate appearances on the season.
