  • Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Productive against Oakland

McCutchen went 0-for-1 with three walks and two RBI on Monday against the Athletics.

It was an unusual -- yet productive -- line for McCutchen, as he drew a bases-loaded walk and hit a sacrifice fly to tally his two RBI. He's now reached based multiple times in five consecutive games, during which he's drawn six free passes combined with six hits. His combination of a .373 on-base percentage and .442 slugging percentage across 217 plate appearances this season gives him his highest OPS since the 2019 campaign.

  • Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU

Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Slugs 16th homer

Alvarez went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored Monday against the Blue Jays.

Alvarez took Trevor Richards deep in the fourth inning to tally his 16th home run of the season. It was already his second home run in five games during June, and he's also collected five RBI and five runs scored in that span. He also currently leads the league in RBI with 53 across 54 total games.

  • Brent Rooker DH | ATH

Athletics' Brent Rooker: Productive in Monday's loss

Rooker went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs in a loss to the Pirates on Monday.

Rooker reached safely for the third time over the last four games in the narrow loss while generating his first multi-hit effort since May 20. The 28-year-old carries an impressive .263/.368/.497 slash line across 212 plate appearances, giving him his most extensive taste of success at the big-league level yet and affording him regular playing time at the corner outfield spots and designated hitter.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Red Sox's Justin Turner: Homers in loss

Turner went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 4-1 loss against the Rays.

Turner was responsible for the Red Sox' lone run Monday with a solo shot off Shane McClanahan in the sixth inning, his seventh homer of the year. The 38-year-old Turner has been swinging the bat well, going 9-for-30 (.300) with seven RBI over his last seven games. He's slashing .266/.351/.416 with 26 RBI and 32 runs scored through 245 plate appearances in his first year with Boston.

  • Jesse Winker DH | NYM

Brewers' Jesse Winker: Cleared for rehab assignment

Winker (neck) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Winker underwent neck surgery over the offseason and just over a week ago went on the injured list with a cervical strain. However, he's evidently feeling well enough to test things out in game action. Given his relatively brief period of down time, Winker shouldn't need many rehab contests before being activated.

  • Darin Ruf DH | MIL

Brewers' Darin Ruf: Recovering from broken kneecap

Ruf, whom the Brewers transferred to the 60-day injured list earlier Monday, has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of his patella in addition to a deep laceration in his right knee, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Ruf was placed on the 10-day IL on Saturday after he was revealed to be dealing with only the deep laceration, but the fractured kneecap explains why the Brewers wasted little time in shifting him to the 60-day IL. Though he's expected to avoid surgery since the fracture is non-displaced, Ruf is still projected to require 6-to-8 weeks of recovery time. He suffered the injury last Friday when he collided with the tarp while chasing after a pop-up.

  • Darin Ruf DH | MIL

Brewers' Darin Ruf: Moved to 60-day IL

The Brewers transferred Ruf (knee) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The right knee laceration Ruf sustained last Friday when he collided with the tarp evidently must have been a serious one. As a result of his move to the 60-day IL, Ruf won't be eligible for activation until early August.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Rays' Harold Ramirez: Takes seat for series finale

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Yandy Diaz is getting a day out of the field and serving as the Rays' designated hitter in the series finale, so Ramirez will retreat to the bench. Ramirez had started in each of the last five games, going 6-for-18 with a pair of doubles, four RBI, two runs and a stolen base.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Blue Jays' Brandon Belt: Absent from lineup

Belt is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

George Springer is getting a day at designated hitter, which means Belt will begin this one on the bench. Cavan Biggio will patrol right field.
