  • Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Drawing start in Game 3

Santander will start in right field and bat seventh Tuesday in Game 3 of the ALDS versus the Yankees.

Santander was on the bench in favor of Myles Straw in Game 2 against lefty Max Fried, but he'll get the start in Game 3 as the Yankees send southpaw Carlos Rodon to the hill. The switch-hitting Santander went 1-for-3 with a single in the Blue Jays' Game 1 victory.

  • David Fry DH | CLE

Guardians' David Fry: Nasal surgery scheduled

Fry will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair nasal fractures, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Fry suffered nasal and facial fractures when he was hit by a 99 mph fastball thrown by Tarik Skubal back on Sept. 24. He's expected to be fully recovered by early-to mid-November, so Fry should have a fairly typical offseason.

  • David Banuelos DH | BAL

    David Banuelos: Becomes free agent

    Banuelos elected free agency Monday.

Banuelos spent the majority of his 2025 campaign at Triple-A Norfolk, where he struggled to a .107 average with one home run, two RBI and four runs scored in 21 games. He'll search for a better fit elsewhere following Monday's transaction.

  • Jorge Polanco DH | SEA

Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Pops two homers against Skubal

Polanco went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's win over the Tigers in Game 2 of the American League Division Series.

Polanco played hero for the Mariners, putting the team on the board with a home run off Detroit ace Tarik Skubal in the fourth inning and adding another homer against Skubal in the sixth. It's a performance that will long be remembered in Seattle, as Polanco set the stage for the team to eventually take the lead for good in the eighth inning, after it took the loss to Troy Melton and company in Game 1. Polanco finished the regular season with a .329/.380/.634 slash line in September and may have saved the season in the club's second playoff game of 2025.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Two hits, including homer, in Game 2

Springer went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 13-7 win over the Yankees in Game 2 of the ALDS.

Springer walked and came around to score on a grand slam by Vladimir Guerrero in the fourth inning. He later added a solo homer off Will Warren in the following frame and a double in the bottom of the seventh. Springer will look to build off Sunday's performance when Toronto attempts to sweep New York on the road Tuesday.

  • Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: On bench for Game 2

Santander is out of the lineup Sunday for Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees.

The switch-hitting Santander hit just .146 with a 36.4 percent strikeout rate over 55 plate appearances against lefties during the season, so he'll take a seat on the bench for Game 2 while the Yankees send southpaw Max Fried to the mound. Toronto will go with a starting outfield of Davis Schneider, Daulton Varsho and Myles Straw from left to right Sunday.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Strikes out nine in Game 1 win

Ohtani picked up the win against the Phillies on Saturday, allowing three earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out nine batters across six innings.

Making his first career postseason start, Ohtani set the Phillies down in order in the bottom of the first inning before getting into trouble in the second. Ohtani walked Alec Bohm and gave up a single to Brandon Marsh before J.T. Realmuto belted a two-run triple. Harrison Bader added a sacrifice fly two batters later, and that was the extent of the damage. At the plate, Ohtani went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts and one walk. Ohtani would likely be available to make his next start Thursday in Game 4 if the series gets to that point, though Tyler Glasnow was previously named as a starter for the series. Glasnow appeared out of the bullpen Saturday, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings.

  • Colt Keith DH | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: In lineup as DH

Keith (ribs) will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth in Saturday's ALDS Game 1 matchup against the Mariners.

Keith was officially added to the Tigers' ALDS roster Saturday after missing the wild-card round with rib-cage inflammation, and he's now been deemed fit enough to work as Detroit's designated hitter to begin the series. He'll make his 2025 postseason debut against George Kirby, whom he is 4-for-8 against in his MLB career.

  • Colt Keith DH | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Named on ALDS roster

Keith (ribs) is listed on the Tigers' ALDS roster.

Keith landed on the injured list Sept. 19 due to right rib cage inflammation, and after sitting out the AL Wild Card Series versus Cleveland, the 24-year-old will now be available to play against Seattle in the ALDS. That being said, it remains unknown whether he will start Game 1 against the Mariners on Saturday. If he sits out, Zach McKinstry would likely continue to see action at the hot corner.

  • Colt Keith DH | DET

Tigers' Colt Keith: Hoping to be back for ALDS

The Tigers are hopeful that Keith (ribs) will be ready to play in the ALDS, should they advance, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Sidelined for the past two weeks with right rib cage inflammation, Keith played catch on the field at Progressive Field on Wednesday. He's also been able to participate in other baseball activities, including swinging a bat, per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com. Keith certainly appears to be moving in the right direction, but a decision on his availability for the ALDS could come down to the wire. With Keith sidelined, Zach McKinstry has been filling in at third base for the Tigers.
