Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-3 win over the Reds.
Ohtani reclaimed a share of the major-league lead in homers with his 13th long ball of the year, which came off Frankie Montas in the third inning. Over his last 12 games, Ohtani's slugged six homers with 12 RBI and seven multi-hit efforts. He's slashing an electrifying .358/.426/.676 with 32 RBI, 36 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 16 doubles and a triple through 204 plate appearances while occupying the No. 2 spot in the Dodgers' stacked lineup.

Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Clubs fifth homer
Burleson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Friday's 10-6 win over the Red Sox.
Burleson popped a go-ahead solo shot in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the seventh. The 25-year-old has multiple hits in three straight games, which is only strengthening his claim for playing time between designated hitter, the corner outfield spots and first base. Burleson is up to five homers, 17 RBI, nine runs scored, one stolen base and a .286/.316/.473 slash line through 117 plate appearances this season.

Mariners' Mitch Garver: Drives in run in return
Garver (back) went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in a loss to the Orioles on Friday.
Garver was back in the lineup after missing the last two games with back spasms, and he delivered the first run of the contest with his first-inning single. The veteran offseason addition now has seven RBI in May and has reached safely in eight of the last 10 games, but he's still carrying an abysmal .176/.286/.344 slash line across 147 plate appearances on the season.

Angels' Willie Calhoun: Collects four hits
Calhoun went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Friday's win over the Rangers.
Calhoun opened his night with a groundout in the second inning before singling in four straight at-bats. He's knocked at least three hits in four of his first 13 games with the Angels, including two straight. However, in his other nine games, he's gone 6-for-34 (.176). Calhoun is slashing .365/.382/.577 with 11 runs scored through 55 plate appearances.

Giants' Jorge Soler: Returns to starting lineup
Soler (shoulder) is serving as the designated hitter and batting in the leadoff spot for Friday's game against the Rockies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Giants reinstated Soler from the 10-day injured list Friday, per Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com. Soler made two rehab appearances with Triple-A Sacramento, and he went 2-for-3 with one RBI in his second outing Thursday. Before landing on the IL, the 32-year-old was slashing .202/.294/.361 with five home runs and eight RBI over 136 plate appearances.

Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Scratched Friday
Pederson was scratched from Arizona's lineup ahead of Friday's game versus the Tigers.
Manager Torey Lovullo emphasized that Pederson is not injured -- the skipper simply wanted to use him off the bench during Friday's contest, per Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com. While Pederson sits, Randal Grichuk will serve as Arizona's DH, and Jake McCarthy will fill the opening in right field.

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Manzardo started the previous three contests and will receive a day off after going 1-for-10 with a walk and a run scored. David Fry will serve as Cleveland's designated hitter Friday.

Rangers' Travis Jankowski: Not starting Friday
Jankowski is not in the lineup for Friday's matchup against the Angels.
The lefty-hitting outfielder will start from the bench as the Rangers take on lefty Tyler Anderson. With Evan Carter (back) banged up, Jankowski started the last three games in left field for the Rangers, going 3-for-10 in that stretch. Though Ezequiel Duran will take left field and bat seventh against Los Angeles.

Garver (back) is batting third as the designated hitter for Friday's game against Baltimore.
Garver was scratched Tuesday with back spasms and was forced to miss Wednesday's contest. However, he'll be back in action for Friday's series opener against the Orioles. In May, Garver is batting .244 (10-for-41) with two homers and seven RBI.

Padres' Manny Machado: Hitting fifth Friday
Machado will start at third base and bat fifth in Friday's game in Atlanta.
It's only the second time over the past nine seasons that Machado has batted lower than cleanup. The 31-year-old is in the middle of a 2-for-30 stretch at the plate to drop his season slash line to .222/.276/.346.
