Canha (back strain) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

Canha dealt with a sore back early in spring training, but no further issues were reported until Monday. He has only started two games in May, and his at-bats will likely be divided between multiple players.

Harper may be fined or suspended for re-entering the field after he was ejected from Monday's game against the Tigers, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.

Harper was ejected in the ninth inning for his vocal disagreement with a called third strike against a teammate. He then joined his team on the field following a walk-off homer a few minutes later, and he was seen yelling at the home-plate umpire during the celebration. Red Sox manager John Farrell recently escaped with a fine for a similar offense, but Harper's choice of words may lead to a brief suspension.

Martinez went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's loss to the Nationals.

Martinez had been off to a putrid start to May, collecting just two hits in 27 at-bats prior to Monday. Monday's game could be a sign that Martinez is starting to come back to life, as the outfielder hit a robust .282 with 38 home runs a season ago. He's at .239 with four homers thus far this year.

Cabrera is still expected to play Tuesday against the Nationals despite jamming his knee while sliding into second base during Monday's loss, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera never left Monday's game and ultimately went 1-for-3 with a walk. Although unlikely, Victor Martinez will likely play at first base if Cabrera is ultimately given the day off Tuesday.

Pederson is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Trayce Thompson will once again start in center field against a lefty as the Dodgers face Mets southpaw Steven Matz on Monday night.

Canha is dealing with some tightness in his back, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

The 27-year-old was in the lineup Sunday for the second time this month, but with the soreness creeping up he'll be held out of action Monday. Canha should be considered day-to-day, though it's worth noting that he also battled back soreness a couple months ago during spring training.

Reed, 22, is batting .212 over his last 10 games for Triple-A Fresno.

Reed's average has taken a nosedive thus far this season, as he is hitting just .235 overall through 26 games at Triple-A. However, he still has six home runs and 20 RBI over that span, and remains a top-flight prospect with the likelihood of making his big-league debut before the end of 2016.

Carpenter went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's 10-5 loss to the Pirates.

In reaching base four times on the day, Carpenter boosted his on-base percentage to a robust .380. He's not quite displaying the same sort of power that netted him 44 doubles and 28 homers in 2015, but Carpenter's strong batting eye and solid contact skills should enable him to stick at the top of the order.

Harper became the first player in major league history to reach base seven times in a game without an official at-bat, as he drew six walks and was hit by a pitch in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

The six walks also tied an MLB record held by a number of players, most recently Jeff Bagwell in 1999. The Cubs absolutely refused to give Harper anything to hit, twice walking him with runners on first and second and two outs in order to pitch to Ryan Zimmerman, but their plan worked out Sunday when Javier Baez hit a walkoff homer in the 13th inning. Harper has now drawn an absurd 30 walks in 31 games this year to fuel his .432 OBP; expect other teams to copy the Cubs' strategy until another Nats hitter makes them pay for it.

Buxton went 1-for-4 with his third home run in six games Sunday for Triple-A Rochester. He's hitting .276/.344/.534 in 14 games since being sent to the minors.

Buxton began the season as Minnesota's starting center fielder, but struggled to make contact, hitting .156 with a 24:2 K:BB in 45 at-bats. It looks like he's finally turning his season around at Triple-A, as he has six walks in 58 at-bats. The Twins may let Buxton gain confidence at Triple-A for several months before bringing him back to the majors again.
