Jimenez (head) remains in the league concussion protocol due to the initial symptoms he illustrated after hitting his head Sunday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The team announced Jimenez was removed with light-headedness after colliding with the outfield wall Sunday, but the league has more stringent protocols before clearing him of a concussion. The 23-year-old was apparently available for full activity Tuesday, but he was withheld from the lineup for both games of the twin bill in Cleveland. Jimenez should continue to be considered day-to-day until he's officially cleared for game action.

Alvarez (undisclosed) has been able to hit and will take live batting practice soon, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Alvarez missed all of camp for undisclosed reasons and was considered weeks away from game action when he arrived Friday. That still appears to be the case, though a precise timeline remains unclear. The Astros have used four different players in five games at the designated hitter spot in his absence, but Kyle Tucker appears to be the primary option against righties.

Vogelbach is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Angels.

It was something of a surprise to see Vogelbach sit for the Mariners' previous two games with righties on the mound for the opposition, but it's no surprise to see him sit against southpaw Patrick Sandoval in this contest. Tim Lopes will serve as the designated hitter in his absence.

Pederson isn't in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

Pederson will be out of the starting nine for the second consecutive game with left-hander Framber Valdez on the mound for the Astros. A.J. Pollock will shift to left field and bat seventh.

Torrens is traveling with the Padres as part of their taxi squad for their upcoming road trip in San Francisco, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Torrens' place on the three-player squad was largely assumed due to his clear status as the team's third option at catcher and the requirement for clubs to carry a backstop as part of the taxi squad. He won't be able to participate in games unless a member of the current 30-man roster goes down to injury or tests positive for COVID-19.

Buxton (foot) will bat ninth and play center field Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Buxton suffered a sprained left foot in an intrasquad game in mid-July but will wind up missing just three regular-season contests. His return pushes Jake Cave back to a bench role.

Jimenez (head) was cleared for full activity Tuesday but is still being monitored and is considered day-to-day, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Jimenez ran into the outfield wall Sunday against the Twins and was forced to leave the game, though he hasn't been diagnosed with a concussion. Nicky Delmonico will start in left field in his absence in the first half of Tuesday's doubleheader in Cleveland, and the day-to-day designation seems to indicate that Jimenez will sit for the nightcap as well, but it sounds as though he'll be back in the lineup soon.

Reyes will be on the bench for the first half of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Reyes will get a rest for the first time this season after starting each of Cleveland's first three games. Francisco Lindor will rest his legs as the designated hitter, with Mike Freeman entering the lineup at shortstop.

Jimenez (head) is not in the lineup for the afternoon portion of Tuesday's doubleheader in Cleveland.

Jimenez left Sunday's game against the Twins after crashing into the outfield wall, though he's yet to be diagnosed with anything worse than "light-headedness." He'll sit for at least the first half of Tuesday's doubleheader, with Nicky Delmonico starting in left field. There hasn't yet been word on whether or not he'll be available for the nightcap.

Vogelbach, who's been out of the lineup for the Mariners' last two games, is working on some technique issues with the team's hitting coaches, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. "Vogey has gotten off to a slow start here and in summer camp," manager Scott Servais said. "The last couple days, he's been working on a few things with [hitting coaches Jarret DeHart and Hugh Quattlebaum], trying to get the feel back. He's picked up a few things on video. He'll be back in there again."

The left-handed slugger has been replaced by Jose Marmolejos for each of the last two contests, with Vogelbach's 0-for-7 start over the first two games of the season having a role to play in that decision. Vogelbach had performed well in spring training and Cactus League play (.321 average over 12 exhibitions), but the struggles he displayed in summer camp have carried over to the regular season. He may have another day off Tuesday, considering southpaw Patrick Sandoval is slated to take the mound for the opposing Angels.
