Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Hitless in return
Stanton went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts in Tuesday's win over Toronto.
Stanton was the only Yankees starter who did not register a hit in the 20-6 rout, but some rust was to be expected after the slugger missed over five weeks with a left hamstring strain. The good news is that Stanton made it through the contest without suffering any setbacks before he was lifted for a pinch hitter in the eighth inning. Per Max Goodman of Sports Illustrated, Stanton will get the day off Wednesday but will be back in the lineup Thursday as part of a plan to build him up slowly.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Strong day at dish
Buxton went 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run, one RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the White Sox.
Buxton led off the third inning by scalding a line drive over the head of Luis Robert. Robert went for the catch, but misplayed the ball, in turn allowing Buxton to speed his way around the bases for an inside-the-park home run. Buxton has made things happen at the plate of late, as he now has four home runs in his last seven games, bringing his total to nine on the campaign. Overall, he's hitting .252/.255/.544 with 15 runs scored and 20 RBI across 106 plate appearances.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Reaches base five times
Cabrera went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and three walks during the Tigers' 6-0 victory over the Royals on Tuesday night.
Cabrera provided the final blow to starter Jakob Junis' night, taking him yard in the third. The 37-year-old has six home runs and 23 RBI thus far, hitting .246 through 167 at-bats.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: On bench against lefty
Ohtani isn't in Tuesday's lineup against the Diamondbacks.
Ohtani will take a seat for the third consecutive game, but his absence Tuesday was to be expected with southpaw Madison Bumgarner starting for Arizona. Albert Pujols will serve as the designated hitter in his place.

Mike Ford DH | MIN
Yankees' Mike Ford: Sent down by Yankees
Ford was optioned to the Yankees' alternate training site Tuesday.
Ford was on the major-league roster since the start of the season, but he saw a drop in playing time recently as he was on the bench for each of the last seven games. With Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) and Gio Urshela (elbow) returning from the 10-day injured list, Ford's services were no longer needed at the big-league level.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Reinstated from injured list
Stanton (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Stanton spent just over a month on the injured list while recovering from a hamstring strain, but he took part in several simulated games recently. The 30-year-old could be eased back into a regular role in an attempt to keep him healthy ahead of the playoffs. Stanton played in just 14 games prior to his injury, slashing .293/.453/.585 with three home runs and seven RBI.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Royals' Jorge Soler: Could return for final week
Soler (oblique) could potentially return for the Royals' weekend series in Milwaukee but isn't expected to return before the team's final homestand, which begins Monday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Soler will be eligible to return from his strained oblique Wednesday, but it does not sound like his return is imminent, as he hasn't traveled with the team. While he could link up with his teammates in Milwaukee, Soler is more likely to stay home and return to the roster for the final week of the season.

Kyle Lewis DH | ARI
Mariners' Kyle Lewis: Flashes skills in twin bill
Lewis went 1-for-3 with a walk, a home run and three RBI during a 6-5 win over the A's in the first game of Monday's doubleheader.
The 25-year-old then went 1-for-2 with a walk and a double in the nightcap while also doing his best Ken Griffey Jr. impression by going high over the wall in center field to rob Ramon Laureano of a grand slam in the first inning. Lewis has slowed down at the plate in recent weeks, but he's still slashing .295/.390/.494 on the year with 10 homers, three steals, 27 RBI and 34 runs through 47 games.
-
Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Pops fourth homer
Canha went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI during a 9-0 win over the Mariners in the second game of Monday's doubleheader.
After going 0-for-3 in the matinee, Canha took Brady Lail deep in the sixth inning of the nightcap to pad a comfortable 6-0 lead. The 31-year-old outfielder has three multi-hit performances in his last seven games but went 0-for-11 in the other four, and on the year he's slashing .247/.388/.409 with four homers, four steals, 25 runs and 25 RBI through 47 games.

Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Twins' Brent Rooker: Will require surgery
Rooker will require surgery to address the fractured right forearm he sustained in Saturday's game against the Indians, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
Minnesota moved Rooker to the 10-day injured list Sunday and brought back outfielder Max Kepler (groin) from the IL in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old enjoyed a brief but productive run as a part-time player for the Twins following his Sept. 4 promotion, appearing in seven games and slashing .316/.381/.579. Barring an unexpected setback in his recovery, Rooker is expected to return to full strength for the start of spring training.
