Brent Rooker DH | ATH
Twins' Brent Rooker: Slow start at Triple-A
Rooker is hitting just .213 with a .790 OPS and four home runs in 18 games at Triple-A St. Paul.
Rooker looked in position to be the Opening Day left fielder for the Twins early in spring training, but he didn't have an overly impressive spring training and was bypassed by Kyle Garlick. With top prospects Alex Kirilloff and Trevor Larnach called up to the majors amid several injuries in the Twins outfield, it looks like Rooker may have missed his window to get regular playing time in the majors. A slow start to the season at Triple-A won't help his case.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Royals' Jorge Soler: Sitting out Sunday
Soler (groin) is not in the lineup Sunday against the Twins.
Soler exited Saturday's contest with right groin discomfort and will be sidelined for at least one game. Hunter Dozier will serve as the designated hitter while Edward Olivares starts in right field Sunday.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Remains out Sunday
Alvarez (wrist) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
It will be the fourth straight absence for the 23-year-old since being scratched with soreness in his right wrist Wednesday. Manager Dusty Baker previously indicated he hopes Alvarez can rejoin the lineup early in the week, but he could be headed to the injured list if he doesn't progress as expected over the next couple days.

J.D. Martinez DH | NYM
Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Dealing with foot issue
Martinez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins after fouling a ball off his left foot during Saturday's contest, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
The veteran slugger went 2-for-4 with two doubles Saturday and never exited the contest, but he'll receive the day off Sunday while receiving treatment for his foot. It doesn't appear to be a serious injury, so perhaps Martinez will be ready to go for Monday's series opener at Houston.

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Day off Sunday
Martinez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
Martinez started the past four contests and will take a seat Sunday after going 5-for-15 with three doubles, two RBI and a run during that stretch. Marwin Gonzalez, Danny Santana and Hunter Renfroe will start from left to right in the outfield while Alex Verdugo serves as the designated hitter in the series finale.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Productive at plate in win
Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-0 win over the A's.
The Angels did all their scoring in the top of the fifth inning, with Ohtani's two-run single being the biggest blow. The 26-year-old is hitting .269 on the season with a .940 OPS, along with 15 homers, seven steals, 35 runs and 40 RBI.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Royals' Jorge Soler: Exits with right groin discomfort
Soler left Saturday's game against the Twins in the second inning with right groin discomfort, Lynn Worthy of The Kansas City Star reports.
Soler went 0-for-1 in his lone at-bat Saturday, and he was replaced in right field in the bottom of the seventh inning. The severity of his injury isn't yet clear.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Resting Saturday
Stanton will sit Saturday against the Tigers.
The Yankees won't ask Stanton to play twice in a row immediately after returning from a quadriceps strain. He wasn't exactly convincing in his first game back in action, going 0-for-5 with four strikeouts. Aaron Judge will rest his legs as the designated hitter in his absence.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Still out of lineup
Alvarez (wrist) isn't starting Saturday's game against the Padres, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Alvarez will be out of the lineup for a third consecutive game after he was scratched with a sore right wrist Wednesday. Manager Dusty Baker said that there was "consideration" toward putting Alvarez on the injured list, but the 23-year-old has made progress recently and will hit ahead of Saturday's game, Rome reports. Baker said that he's hopeful Alvarez can return early next week, which suggests that he could be held out for Sunday's series finale against the Padres.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Fans four times in return
Stanton went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in Friday's loss to the Tigers.
It was an unceremonious return for the slugger, who missed over two weeks due to a strained left quadriceps. Stanton struck out in his first at-bat and followed with three more whiffs over the course of the contest, the most significant of which was a strikeout with the go-ahead run at third base and one out in the ninth inning. There is likely still some rust to shake off following the long absence, but it's worth noting that Stanton had been struggling prior to the injury, collecting only three hits in his last 22 at-bats.
