  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Strong start to rehab assignment

Jimenez (pectoral) has gone 3-for-7 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBI through the first two games of his rehab assignment at High-A Winston-Salem. He will continue his rehab at Triple-A Charlotte beginning Tuesday.

After serving as a designated hitter for the affiliate Saturday in his 2021 debut, Jimenez manned left field for seven innings Sunday before heading to the bench. The 24-year-old looks to be progressing well in his recovery from the left pectoral surgery he underwent in March, a procedure that was initially expected to keep him on the shelf for 4-to-5 months. Jimenez looks like he'll have a chance to return before the short end of that timeline, provided he can make it through his rehab assignment free of any setbacks. The White Sox would have the luxury of deploying Jimenez as a DH if they aren't fully confident he's immediately ready to handle an everyday role in left field.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Reaches base three times in win

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Mariners.

Ohtani doubled his first time up and then later walked and scored on a sacrifice fly during a three-run ninth inning. The 26-year-old completes a historic first half of the season with the bat, slashing .279/.364/.698 with a league-best 33 home runs to go along with 70 RBI, 65 runs scored, 12 steals, and 38:98 BB:K over 343 plate appearances.

  • Luis Torrens C | NYM

Mariners' Luis Torrens: Surging going into All-Star break

Torrens, who was out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels and went 2-for-3 with an RBI triple and a walk in Saturday's win, hit .350 (7-for-20) with the three-bagger, two home runs, five RBI, seven walks and four runs across the last seven games of the first half.

The hot-hitting backstop reached safely in all seven of those contests as well, and factoring in Saturday's three-bagger and the pair of round trippers he belted during that stretch, he's now laced exactly half of his 32 hits this season for extra bases. That's helped lead to a .462 slugging percentage, a particularly appealing figure for a part-time catcher.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Indians' Harold Ramirez: Three hits, two runs in win

Ramirez went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Saturday's 14-6 win over Kansas City.

The outfielder seemed refreshed at the plate after getting a day off Friday. He entered Saturday's contest hitting just .214 (6-for-28) through eight games in July. Ramirez's three-hit effort was just his third such game this season. He's slashing a solid .280/.325/.457 with six home runs, 22 RBI, 24 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 200 plate appearances as Cleveland's near-everyday right fielder.

  • Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR

White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Rehab debut postponed

Jimenez (pectoral) had his rehab outing at High-A Winston-Salem on Friday postponed due to rain.

Jimenez will get another opportunity to take at-bats Saturday, when the Dash compete in a doubleheader with Hickory. It's possible Jimenez is back in Chicago by the end of July.

  • Ji-Man Choi 1B | NYM

Rays' Ji-Man Choi: Drives in three Friday

Choi went 1-for-3 with a walk and three RBI in Friday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays.

A bases-loaded hit by pitch in the fourth inning and a two-run single in the sixth accounted for Choi's production. The 30-year-old is on a tear with the All-Star break approaching, slashing .345/.457/.517 over his last nine games with a homer and eight RBI.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Slams another homer

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's loss to Seattle.

The two-way star's solo shot in the third inning wasn't cheap -- it went 463 feet to right field. The long ball was Ohtani's league-leading 33rd of the season and 16th in his past 21 games. Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Ohtani is only the seventh player in MLB history to accomplish that feat, and the first American Leaguer. Needless to say, he is paying huge dividends for fantasy managers who plugged him into their lineup as a hitter this season.

  • J.D. Martinez DH | NYM

Red Sox's J.D. Martinez: Homers, knocks in four in win

Martinez went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and two walks in Friday's 11-5 win over Philadelphia.

The designated hitter put Boston ahead for good with a three-run homer in the second inning. Martinez added a ground-rule double in the third to cap off a four-run rally that solidified Boston's lead. The 33-year-old is 8-for-26 (.308) with two homers, eight RBI and five runs scored through seven games in July. That's right about in line with his .303/.372/.562 slash line through 358 plate appearances overall.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Royals' Jorge Soler: Homers for lone run in loss

Soler went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-1 loss to Cleveland.

The 29-year-old's first homer since June 10 tied the game at 1-1 in the eighth inning, but that was all the offense Kansas City could muster. Soler has put together a disappointing campaign so far, posting a .185/.280/.321 slash line with seven long balls, 15 doubles, 30 RBI and 26 runs scored through 304 plate appearances, and he's seen Ryan O'Hearn begin to carve into his playing time at DH.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Indians' Harold Ramirez: Heads to bench

Ramirez will sit Friday against the Royals.

Ramirez sits after starting 14 straight games. He's in the middle of his best big-league season to date, but his .269/.316/.445 slash line still isn't anything particularly exciting. Daniel Johnson will be the right fielder in his absence.
