Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Angels' Shohei Ohtani: Settles for no-decision Monday
Ohtani tossed six innings against Seattle on Monday, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out eight batters in a no-decision. He also went 1-for-4 at the plate.
Ohtani gave up a first-inning solo homer to Jesse Winker but was tagged for only one more run and one additional extra-base hit the rest of the way. The two-way star finished with his eighth quality start over his past 11 outings but was matched by opposing starter Luis Castillo and had to settle for a no-decision. Ohtani isn't projected to quite reach his explosive offensive numbers from last season, but he's already picked up one more win on the mound (10) and has a lower ERA (2.69) and WHIP (1.06) along with a higher K/9 (12.7) through 20 starts.

Eloy Jimenez DH | TOR
White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Stays hot with two hits Monday
Jimenez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 4-2 win over the Astros.
With two more hits Monday, the 25-year-old now has a five-game hitting streak and is slashing .400/.433/.491 since the beginning of August. While he has only one home run in that 14-game stretch, he is hitting the ball with authority, and his 9 percent HR/FB rate should regress toward his career average of 26 percent. Impressively, he has also not hit a single infield popup since the beginning of August and has only done so in 2.9 percent of his plate appearances this season.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Mariners' Jesse Winker: Included in Monday's lineup
Winker is in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
Winker was held out Sunday with a left-hander on the mound for the opponent, but he will be back in action Monday night. He will serve as Seattle's designated hitter and occupy the third spot in the batting order.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Mariners' Jesse Winker: Sitting again Monday
Winker is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
Winker was held out Sunday with a left-hander getting the start for the Rangers, and he will sit for the same reason Monday with southpaw Shohei Ohtani on the bump for the opponent. Sam Haggerty will patrol left field for the Mariners on Monday night.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Homers, swipes bag
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in a 4-2 loss to the Angels on Sunday.
Buxton provided all of Minnesota's offense with a two-run shot off Los Angeles' starter Tucker Davidson in the first inning and added a single and stolen base in the sixth for his second two-hit game in his last four. During the span, he's batted 5-for-17 with two home runs and two stolen bases. Buxton started at DH after appearing in center field during the last two contests but is most likely feeling healthier after logging a theft for the second straight game.

Luis Torrens DH | NYM
Mariners' Luis Torrens: Outrighted to Triple-A
Torrens cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.
Torrens was designated for assignment Thursday but will remain in the organization after he went unclaimed on waivers. He hit .214 with a home run, 10 RBI and nine runs over 46 games during his time in the majors to begin the season.

Spencer Horwitz 1B | PIT
Blue Jays' Spencer Horwitz: Returns from thumb issue
Horwitz (thumb) started Saturday's game for Triple-A Buffalo and went 0-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.
Horwitz missed nine days due to the thumb injury but rejoined the lineup Saturday for the Bisons. The 24-year-old opened the season with Double-A New Hampshire but was promoted to Triple-A in early July, and he has a .256/.354/.395 slash line through 22 games with Buffalo.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Mariners' Jesse Winker: On bench Sunday
Winker is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Texas.
The 29-year-old was back in the lineup the past two games after a brief absence due to back spasms, but he'll return to the bench for Sunday's contest. Sam Haggerty will take over in left field with Winker receiving a day off in the series finale.
-
Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Still on bench Sunday
Cabrera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Cabrera will remain on the bench Sunday for the fourth time in the past five games. The 39-year-old's playing time has dropped over the past week since he's managing lingering knee pain, and it appears he'll continue splitting time for the foreseeable future. Harold Castro will shift to designated hitter while Kody Clemens starts at first base.

Byron Buxton DH | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Logs fourth steal
Buxton went 0-for-5 with a stolen base, a hit-by-pitch and three strikeouts in Saturday's 5-3 extra-innings loss to the Angels.
Buxton didn't get much going at the plate Saturday, but he was able to generate a little value in his one trip on base. The steal was his fourth of the year and his second in his last nine games, a span in which he's hit just .233 (7-for-30). Buxton has started each of the last two contests in center field, though he may be due for a rest soon as the Twins continue to manage the oft-injured outfielder's workload. He's slashing .219/.300/.537 with 27 home runs, 49 RBI and 58 runs scored through 85 games this season.
