  • Bo Naylor C | MIL

Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting out Tuesday

Naylor is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against Atlanta.

Both Naylor brothers are sitting this one out, although Josh's absence is due to a wrist issue. In Bo's case, it looks to be a routine day off while Cam Gallagher catches Shane Bieber.

  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Absent from lineup

Grandal is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Blue Jays.

It looks to be a routine day off for the veteran catcher. Seby Zavala will catch Lucas Giolito while Grandal gets some rest.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Takes dry swings

O'Hoppe (shoulder) took 25 dry swings Tuesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

It's the first time he's swung a bat since he underwent surgery in late April to repair a torn labrum in his left (non-throwing) shoulder. O'Hoppe said afterward that it felt "really good. I didn't feel I needed to baby anything... Taking the training wheels off today." There's a chance he could return before the end of the season, with late August being a best-case scenario. O'Hoppe has plenty of hoops to jump through, though, and where the Angels are in the playoff hunt at the time could also factor into their plans for the young catcher.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: On bench Tuesday

Moreno is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mets.

Carson Kelly will catch and bat seventh versus the Mets and right-hander Max Scherzer. It's the second straight absence for Moreno, who has posted a disappointing .657 OPS with two home runs through 64 games this year.

  • Carlos Perez C | HOU

Athletics' Carlos Perez: Goes down with fractured thumb

Perez was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured left thumb.

It's unclear how or when Perez suffered the injury, but clearly he's going to be on the shelf for a while. Manny Pina (wrist) is back from an injury himself to take Perez's roster spot.

  • Padres' Luis Campusano: Begins rehab assignment

Campusano (thumb) is beginning a rehab assignment Tuesday in the Arizona Complex League, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Campusano is recovered from May 12 surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb and could return to the Padres' active major-league roster after the All-Star break as an option at catcher, first base and DH.

  • Sean Murphy C | ATL

Braves' Sean Murphy: Gets breather Tuesday

Murphy is not in the lineup Tuesday at Cleveland.

Travis d'Arnaud will catch for Atlanta and Marcell Ozuna will fill the DH role. This looks to be a routine day of rest for Murphy, who smacked a double in Monday's series opener and boasts a .294/.389/.557 batting line on the year.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Back in action Tuesday

Perez (foot) will catch and bat cleanup Tuesday versus the Twins in his return to the lineup.

Perez sat out Monday because of a little soreness in his foot after he was hit by a ball Sunday. He's fine, though, and ready to catch for Zack Greinke in this one.

  • Jonah Heim C | ATH

Rangers' Jonah Heim: Getting a breather Tuesday

Heim is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Red Sox.

It's merely a day off for the first-time All-Star. Mitch Garver will do the catching for Dane Dunning while Heim grabs a seat.

  • James McCann C | ARI

Orioles' James McCann: Activated from injured list

McCann was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

McCann has been idle since mid-June with a sprained left ankle but is ready to roll following a short rehab assignment. He'll get the occasional start against left-handed pitching.
