  • Pedro Pages C | STL

Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Launches eighth homer

Pages went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

Pages opened the scoring with a third-inning blast off Shota Imanaga. While playing time hasn't been all that steady lately, Pages has made the most of it, going 7-for-19 (.368) with two homers and six RBI over his last six games dating back to July 29. The catcher is splitting duties with Yohel Pozo behind the dish in what's emerging as a fairly even timeshare. On the year, Pages has a .211/.256/.341 slash line with eight homers, 35 RBI, 29 runs scored and no stolen bases across 87 contests.

  • Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Ready for rehab assignment

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Sunday that Moreno (finger) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Reno, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Moreno is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list Aug. 18, and he looks like he'll have a shot to be activated on that date if all goes smoothly on his rehab assignment. The catcher was hitting .270 but provided just five home runs, one stolen base, 29 runs and 20 RBI through 53 games before he landed on the IL on June 19 due to a hairline fracture of his right index finger.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Belts another homer

Raleigh went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 6-3 win over Tampa Bay.

Raleigh went 3-for-13 during Seattle's three-game series against the Rays, but all three of his hits -- one in each contest -- were round trippers. The catcher tagged Adrian Houser for a two-run shot in his first at-bat. Raleigh is up to 45 home runs on the season, four more than any other player in baseball.

  • Rockies' Braxton Fulford: Three-hit effort in loss

Fulford went 3-for-4 with one run scored in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Diamondbacks.

During his current stint in the big leagues, Fulford has gone 4-for-14 with three strikeouts and one walk. He has been in the lineup for four of seven games since he was called up last Sunday, making two starts each at catcher and designated hitter. He's also started twice against right-handed pitchers, so it doesn't appear he'll be strictly platooned. Over 57 plate appearances in the majors, the 26-year-old has posted a .259/.281/.389 slash line with one home run, 11 RBI, five runs scored, one stolen base, two doubles and one triple.

  • Brewers' William Contreras: Goes deep twice in victory

Contreras went 3-for-4 with two homers and three RBI in Sunday's win versus the Mets.

The 27-year-old backstop notched his sixth career multi-homer performance with this effort. Contreras opened his team's scoring with a solo shot off New York starter Sean Manaea in the fourth, and then returned in the fifth to launch a two-run long ball off reliever Reed Garrett. The two-time All-Star is slashing .255/.354/.389 with 12 home runs, five steals, 65 runs scored and 52 RBI in 486 total plate appearances.

  • Cooper Ingle C | CLE

Guardians' Cooper Ingle: Heading to Triple-A

The Guardians promoted Ingle from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.

Ingle, a 23-year-old catching prospect, batted .273 with nine home runs and a 65:70 BB:K over 403 plate appearances with Akron. He'll likely finish out the 2025 season and open the 2026 campaign as Columbus' No. 1 catcher, but Ingle should have a good chance at reaching the majors at some point next summer.

  • Yohel Pozo C | STL

Cardinals' Yohel Pozo: Exiting lineup for series finale

Pozo is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

After catching all nine innings of Saturday's 9-1 loss, Pozo will take a seat for the series finale. Pedro Pages will get the nod behind the dish Sunday.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Out Sunday, will start Monday

Narvaez (knee) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, but Red Sox manager Alex Cora confirmed that the catcher will return to the starting nine for Monday's series opener in Houston, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Narvaez hasn't played since Tuesday while he's managed a sore left knee, but Cora noted that the backstop will be available off the bench Sunday. Connor Wong had filled in for Narvaez in each of the Red Sox's previous three games, and Cora said that he elected to stick with Wong behind the dish Sunday because he typically serves as starter Brayan Bello's personal catcher. Once he returns to the lineup Monday, Narvaez should resume handling his usual duties as Boston's No. 1 backstop.

  • Connor Wong C | BOS

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Filling in for banged-up Narvaez

Wong will start at catcher and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Padres.

Wong will draw his fourth straight start behind the plate while top backstop Carlos Narvaez (knee) remains day-to-day. Per Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald, manager Alex Cora said that Narvaez is available for Sunday's series finale, but the Red Sox are electing to stick with Wong since he serves as starting pitcher Brayan Bello's personal catcher. Cora added that Narvaez will return to the lineup Monday in Houston, and Wong is likely to see his playing time tail off as a result.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Resting Sunday

Kirk is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Kirk will get some rest for the Sunday afternoon game after he started behind the dish in both of the previous two contests. Tyler Heineman will handle catching duties for Toronto in the series finale.
